Well I'm sure ConspiracyScope loved his YouTube...

I'm sure Alex Jones loved his.

I'm sure Mumkey Jones (hmmm, two Joneses) really loved his.

Alas, it makes no difference.

Thank you for the fabulous idea. I appreciate your ingenuity.

I want to be a pioneer of the 'new era' here on the internet.

Although admittedly it's a bit laughable because all it encompasses is going back to what we all knew the internet as before social media came along...

shrug

Like I said in another thread, we can't "go back" to the way things were...

All we can do is move forward on the foundational principles of the internet, which have been there all along.

And take key elements of the last 15 or so years which were useful on some level, and apply them going forward.

I didn't actually foresee having to do this.

But honestly, now that it's upon us, I'm excited, albeit in a masochistic kinda way.

I refer to it that way because there's a whole generation of people online who never knew the way it was before, and to them, it would be "pioneering"...

To them, what's old to us will seem new.

The concepts, the foundational principles... we know them, but they don't.

It's like a culling is taking place.

The thing is...

I think a lot of people will potentially be lost to this IQ 70 brain drain that is the future of commercialized internet...

I really cringe to even call what they have planned the "internet" because that's just not how I view it.

I think they will peddle a product to people which will ONLY be their selection of 'approved' apps...

Social media as we know it, the sites that popularized it, I think they'll die out.

Nevertheless, they may try to carry the concept into a new (yet, doomed) frontier.

They may try to get people to use devices, maybe tablets or phones, maybe made by Google or something...

And these tablets may only be able to access certain apps, and no ACTUAL web pages. No ACTUAL websites.

I imagine such devices would have to be offered to the public at very cheap prices.

Then there's also the TV route they wanna take. It'd be easy to make TVs only able to access approved apps.

That's the only way I see them successfully pulling it off... and even then I think they would fail.

The future I see is a rejection of smart devices (I know it sounds like the most unlikely thing in the world from this standpoint, but look, it can happen) and a rejection of the ENTIRE CONCEPT behind social media and ANYTHING overly commercialized.

I see a return to old ways, brought about by a genuine and deep fatigue surrounding 'smart' everything.

It's almost a sort of biological reaction to this unhealthy imbalance between the physical and the non-physical.

Telling you...

It's coming.

Watch and see.

Social media, 'smart' devices, high quality videos and pics and crystal clear sound and blah blah blah...

Well, it just isn't cool anymore.

We have to show the people what's cool now.

Because people just wanna be cool...

BTW, music is one of the biggest reasons a whole lot of people even liked YouTube...

Once they take away everyone's favorite tribute music vids and get rid of the hipster scene who LOVES that kinda shit...

Once they crack down in some kinda unsavory way on the music aspect via a copyright shitstorm or whatever the case may be, that'll be when they go over to solely these controlled app devices, and YouTube will be officially dead.

I think a shocking mass revelation of the depth to which these ‘smart devices’ are spying on us will be part of initiating the mass exodus.

I’m not saying that it HAS to be... we’re on our way to the future I’ve described regardless.

I’ll put it to you this way... I keep my phone powered down these days, and I won’t be getting another iPhone. I’m not sure why Apple went so dirty, but they did. And they’re about to go out of style...

That can't happen. The Linux nerds will just create a new mobile OS. More likely, people will switch to Symbian OS or Firefox OS. A mobile phone is just a small computer at the end of the day.

LULZ.

I haven't seen a crystal clear audio system on the mass market in 30 years. It would be wasted on compressed streaming formats like MP3 anyway.

YouTube is a MASSIVEEE social experiment now, BTW.

I mean it has been for YEARS, but these days it’s worse than ever before.

What they’re doing is fucking sick and shameful, and most people are just dumb enough to walk right into the trap.

It’s the hamster wheel effect...

They’ve figured out how to essentially degrade people’s intelligence and send them into an endless rabbit hole of ever depreciating content.

It’s like the ultimate brainwashing tool.

It’s 1000 times worse than TV (RIP) ever was.

Fucking disturbing.

Because when we were kids, people used to tell us TV WASN’T REAL.

We knew that.

And it still monumentally fucked our minds.

Now people are watching YouTubr under the guise of it being a bunch of actual people just sharing their lives, but NOOO.

ESPECIALLY the popular channels advertise in covert ways and don’t even make it clear it’s all sponsored anymore. They’re paid to make suggestions to people by mentioning stuff as if it was their own thoughts/opinions.

BECAUSE it’s SUPPOSEDLY just “regular other people”, the monkey see/monkey do psychological impact is so much more powerful.

It’s dangerous.
