Your Favorite Movie Scenes. They Go Here.

So I know Trix is down on modern Hollywood and all, to the point of a total boycott, but that doesn't mean a thread like this is impermissible. For one, people can post scenes from any film, not just Hollywood produced ones. More importantly, old-school Hollywood has much greatness to choose from. Let's not pretend otherwise just because of its recent or semi-recent nosedive in quality.

I'll start:

Self-explanatory, but next-level awesomeness starts at 06:00.

Note that, excluding this brilliant scene which I loved instantly, the remainder of True Romance took at least two repeated viewings for me to warm up to. Now I'm red hot over it. So if you've only seen it once and were meh on it like I was, I can't stress how much good an additional re-watch or two stands to do. Definitely a grower.

Here's a great one from Network:

What I like about this is how much truer it rings in 2017 compared to when it originally came out in 1976. It has to be one of the most prophetic scenes of all time.

That's it for now. I'll try to keep it to only two scenes per post... mainly because I wasn't able to post more than two vids per post when I last tried to a few months ago.

I'll start with scenes from one of my favorite childhood films...

Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion.

Yes, really.

Come on, you know that's some profound shit.
God made me funky...
And I'm glad He blessed me that way.

My other favorite childhood film, That Darn Cat (1965)...

Too bad the whole scene isn't on there...

She really tells that fucker off.

I learned to do the British accent from Hayley Mills.

She was my childhood idol...

I have her autograph. She's such a sweet lady.
God made me funky...
And I'm glad He blessed me that way.

Only Disney movies I ever gave a shit about were the ones with Hayley Mills.

One of my other favorite scenes from a Hayley Mills movie, Pollyanna...

Unforgettable scene right there... good shit.

DEATH. COMES. UNEXPECTEDLY.
God made me funky...
And I'm glad He blessed me that way.

OMG another childhood favorite... this one was top three. In fact I'd say I have the most pleasant memories surrounding this film... Dick (1999).

Because of your THOUGHTLESSNESS, we have missed the field trip lunch at MCDONALD'S.

ROFLMAO.

Ah man, good times.

EVERY LIE. IS ANOTHER BRICK. IN THE PATHWAY. TO HELL.

LOL...

Arlene reminds me of myself and my love for Donald...

"But what about Melania?"

"She understands."
God made me funky...
And I'm glad He blessed me that way.

And of course, the opening scene from Contact is one of the greatest things ever:

But not as great as the ending of Men In Black...

"A FRIEND OF MINE" (*cough*) might have made a cringey and melodramatic music video of my favorite scenes from one of my other all time favorite movies, the Ghost and Mrs. Muir, which is super sentimental to me and had a killer ending:

And speaking of Gene Tierney, um... I was obsessed. Fucking love this clip:

It's all so haunting.
God made me funky...

Ah man, I remember seeing Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? as a kid and thinking it was like the creepiest shit ever...

"But ya are, Blanche, ya are in that chair!"

Damn that movie was one hell of a mind trip. I still forget that epic plot twist sometimes and find myself wondering "How the hell did that end?" until I remember and I'm like "DAAAMN THOUGHHH."

Wow. Just wow.

Just wow.

Wow.

The endings of movies are the best...

Like Edward Scissorhands, fuck the rest of the movie, but the ending can make even me get misty-eyed:

Touching shit right there.

Harold and Maude... this movie fucks me up too.

It had some great scenes...

"Do you enjoy knives?"

LOL, Harold was so sexy.

"What flower would you like to be?"

"One of these maybe."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because they're all alike."

"Oh but they're not!"

"Oh Harold, don't upset yourself so."

"I love you!"

"Oh Harold. That's wonderful. Go and love some more."

One of the greatest endings of all time.
God made me funky...
And I'm glad He blessed me that way.
