Every false alarm will add a small % of people who will not care to act when the real deal actually hits. All it takes is one ore two more false alarms and 50% of people won´t even quit their call of duty match when the alarm sounds for real.

Sounds made up re: ‘the worker who pushed the wrong button’.
Sounds like a story made up to appease people while they look into things further. Just sounds totally made up in general.

They have sirens which they test the first of every month...
They weren’t going off when the alert was sent. If they had really wanted to freak people out and run a proper test, they would have been. All of this ‘priming’ re: testing sirens, the false alarm, etc. is a bit suspicious though.

I feel ya. Like... If they put up a video on youtube showing a big fuckin red button saying "press here to send alarm!" and a guy stumbled and put his elbow against it... I´d actually find that more realistic than someone pushing something the wrong way on a computer.
If that was actually the case, it should be the people responsible for the programming, or the layout of the program design, or the people teaching the guy how to use it - who deserve a slap. Yup... It it sounds much like BS. edit* edited for clarity. |
