Documentary: Without Bound - Perspectives on Mobile Living
#41
That's all good to know, thanks for the tips. I always thought the south had its own charm, but all I really know is from movies like Forest Gump lol! I do have a good friend who lives in Louisville Kentucky right now, so I might check it out at some point. And I will definitely stay away from Memphis and probably Atlanta too!

That's a shame about Florida, I haven't spent much time there, but thought I might like checking out the beaches and the tropics. It's true that the West has more scenic topography, maybe you should just move out West instead of making that drive every time and live in your van! :) It is definitely doable, especially if you are solo and can just go where you want when you want!!

I think Kentucky is a nice state, but I'm biased because I'm Kentucky born/raised. Re: Atlanta, staying away is probably a good call. The only thing they've got going for them (in my opinion) is a bitchin' aerial acrobatics and circus scene.

The Keys and areas immediately around the Apalachicola area are the best places in Florida, other than that I think it's pretty meh.

You should just do it! You are young (I think) and have nothing to lose. You can always return to Kentucky if/when you want. The people are really friendly out west like you mentioned, although like everywhere, it used to be better 20-30 years, at least in California. Now there's way more traffic, overcrowding and all the other problems this state has, but it is still beautiful.

The great thing about living here, you are close to the beaches, the mountains and the desert. There are so many places to go to get away from it all. Just avoid going to the popular camping spots on the weekends and summers if you can, because you'll have weekend warriors from LA and San Fran going there too.

If you have flexibility, I think summer is a good time to leave CA and go up north to Oregon, Washington or the Rockies (cooler temps too). I think September is the best time to travel around CA, kids are back in school and summer traffic has died down but the temps are still relatively warm. I actually much prefer CA in the fall and spring more than the summer. The great thing about being mobile, you can just leave for the summer and come back in the fall!

If you do end up living in a van, you should really consider making a YouTube channel about your adventures, you already have a following from this site etc. Just don't go down the recent path Noelle went lol! :) Although I do give her a lot of credit for carving out a path for herself and living her dream!

Lmfaooo.

Dude I have no idea what to say to you...

You're just overcomplicating things for the sake of pontification or something.

I really didn't mean it that way, sorry if it made you feel like that or if it came across like that. I was just trying to give input as its something im interested in and have some experience in. Have long before I came here. I think Bobs advice is mostly great, but there is some people who think he is not so great. I have never met him so I don't know.

LOL I think this chick is fucking LYINGGG to herself...

Sounds like her and her BF are in a 9-5 prison lifestyle and need to get the fuck away and live in a van.

I guarantee you SHE would and HE'S holding her back because his pussy ass has never lived in a van or something like that.

I bet she LOOONNNGGGSSS to be free, but she doesn't wanna lose this "Brian" dumbass who doesn't wanna live in a van.

I bet SHE does ALL the work on the fucking van too and he's a pansy. Bwahahahaha. I'd dump that motherfucker so fast...

If it's between a BF, and the open road...

The winner is clear.

Oh good, another van video!

If he's not into it, she should just dump him and find a guy who is or go solo!

It would be nice to be with a guy who was like, you want to go live in a van? Ok let's do it and then he would know how to make that happen and would just be handy and know stuff about building or outfitting a van that I don't know.

I would rather be with a man who knows how to build a converted van more than the richest banker in the world because, that is so much more useful as far as life skills go.

So this is my favorite van conversion. I like it because:

A. The design and style is clean and simple. I don't think I could exist in some of those cluttered vans I see.

B. I think Sara's dad is a custom home builder and you can just tell this van has a level of craftmanship that is superior to most. I am so envious, I wish I knew someone who would build me a custom van!

Look at that rock climbing chick 2 transmissions like 5800 bucks what a rip off you could get a decent one from a wreckers for like 500 bucks but I guess she can't put it in herself.
I reckon she could have got a new van cheaper she is probably in debt for that too how would she get the cash?

I really like this van build too, if you're going to live in a van, you might as well design it well and make it really comfortable.
