Mexicans/hispanics don't tend to kick their children out either...

She doesn't seem kicked out, but there is many reasons why one can not live at home. It could be many things.
I mean my son lives with his mum, my daughter can't cos she fights with her Husband. A million reasons why.
But she just seems like she wants to be free anyway.

Seriously, why have kids if you don't want them around?

I definitely think she looks Asian/Pacific Islander more than Hispanic.

And usually these cultures have more multi-generational households, it's very, very common. I lived in Hawaii for a long time and that is the thing to do there. You simply don't kick your kids out and everyone contributes to the living expenses, even if they get married and have kids of their own they often still live with the parents.

So it is a mystery why, but it could be that she was adopted? Or maybe her parents are deceased? Or in jail? Or addicts? Or super strict?

There are so many possibilities.

Oh ok good point Kitty, but my kids, I wan't them around, they just Ghost me.
Only come see me when they want money. I have mates the same thing. Its like a middle aged joke these days, so did ya talk to ya son? Yeah he said "HI" lmao
These days it just seems to be like this with older kids anyway. They have lost the respect thing we used to have for parents.
I remember when I was young, living far away from my Mum, every week like clock work she would ring me and we would talk for hours, never would I "GHOST" her because I love her and respect her.
Not like this anymore im afraid.

It's a shame, I agree that kids are losing their respect for their parents and families in general, and so true about the money thing.

The joke I've heard is that you don't hear from your kids unless they want something.

Kids just turn to their parents when they need support, but for the most part they are trying to find their independence and make their own way in life (at least that's the American/Western way).

In other cultures there is much more appreciation for family in general. At least in Hawaii, it is a very family-oriented culture, everyone in the extended family from distant aunties and cousins to whoever, all kind of stick together and spend time together.

That's one thing I think America has really gotten wrong. People are cut off from each other and increasingly more so with technology.

I wish I knew it would be like this, maybe would have changed my mind about having kids, not sure.
Maybe the little ones now, they may be different, be better, I hope so.
Mine were so beautiful when they were little, so sweet, they hit puberty and went completely insane.

Fungi that's what I'm afraid of happening too.

How old are they? Maybe they'll come around in their 20s once they have more understanding and hopefully appreciation for you.

6:00 she gets around to addressing the topic of why she doesn't live with her parents...

Cold cold cold cold cold.

7:03 - 7:09 watch her eyes downshift, you can tell she's hurt about something. It's something she feels like she can't logically blame anybody for, but on an emotional level she feels some type of way.

She totally starts projecting someone else's identity (probably a parent) and goes into an evasive mode. She's obviously got a lot of unresolved feelings about the matter.

She left a comment on the vid saying she has a long blog post about it, but the link doesn't work anymore because her domain expired or something.

That is such a weird trend with young people these days. My cousin's kids are around the same age and they didn't want to get their driver's licenses either. I read in an article that less kids are doing so and have noticed it firsthand as well.

In my day, we couldn't wait to drive and have independence from our parents.
