For those who watched the movie IDIOCRACY this actual excuse given by nasa would fit right in. Scary part is children in schools today nod their head in agreement and do not even question the idiocy of this statement

That guy is full of shit.

We don't WANT to return to the moon with 1960s technology.

The technology we have now is plenty capable of getting us there. And it will.
