Meh, I think 'empath' is just another label for some shit that is just innate ability/function.
I would even argue that those who claim to be 'empathic' may have a screw loose because they're recognizing this aspect that is natural as something that is somehow remarkable.

I think the people they're talking about are hypersensitive.
And there ain't no such thing as mind reading, I don't care what anybody says. Presuming to know what other people are thinking is a symptom of codependency.
