Just as they can be pulled off, the can lid also be pushed in if something hits the lid at the appropriate angle/weight.
What would only be a dent for a traditional can lid turns into a compromised and rotting can of food in your pantry.
We should check our food supply at least once a year anyway, but this type of thing makes it even more necessary, and truly makes me question the desirability of pull top cans over traditional can lids for long term food storage.
