A lot of fabrics just shouldn't be machine washed or dried... 

It wears clothes out SO fast.

I sometimes do hand wash some of these more sensitive pieces...

But I admit, I mostly machine wash my laundry.

Drying them though, that's another story.

I enjoy taking the most delicate items, or just the ones I want to last the longest, and draping them everywhere while they dry.

I don't know, it just makes me happy.

Some things like cardigans really do so much better hanging to dry...

Machine drying certain things shrinks them...

But if you wash them and hang them up wet, it stretches the material out again and it can help save something which has previously shrunken a bit.

I just love it, I really do.

As long as there is electricity in this world, you will find me using the washing machine.  However, I'm with you on the dryer!  They eat clothes alive. When I was young and dumb, everything got tossed in the dryer and blasted on high heat.  Took me about 10 years to figure out why the hell all of my jeans and shirts were falling apart so fast.  Socks, chonies, and tshirts are all I dry now...everything else gets hung hah.

They definitely feel better!  One draw back though: you can't use dryer sheets.  I love the smell of dryer sheets...

Ah man I never use dryer sheets...

Used to! But now I am a total purist.

The office I work at is surrounded by section 8 single story apartments; each one has clothes lines outside and they use the shit out of them. Come to Phoenix and we can make out amongst a sea of drying clothes!

How humid is it where you live in KY?  Its amazing how fast things dry outside here.  Honestly faster than the dryer usually (summer only of course).

It's super humid I guess... that's what everyone says at least.

I dry the clothes inside... I like it hot indoors, it doesn't take long.
