There was never any need for them to change any of it.

Pretty sure they're trying to blame it on wanting things to load fast.

But it's really because it just makes it harder for people to save files and if you'll notice, most of these weird extensions don't upload on Imgur (for example) so they make sure you can't share it either.

Eventually they'll start phasing out screencaps on newer systems...

They already do it on the most recent MacOS and some Androids.

You can't screencap certain media players, and there'll be no end in sight to the crackdown.

This is why I'm holding on to my 7 year old Windows machine, which works like a dream BTW.

It does save as webp. I'm gonna figure out how to fix this for you, MO. Because fuck Goolag.
