Gurl...
I haven't left the house in 2 weeks!
But I have heard from folks locally that there's no TP and a lot of random long shelf life items are missing too...
All around I hear there's a serious lack of meat, which I find sort of strange...
Does everybody have a big deep freeze or something? LOL. I have a refrigerator sized freezer, but there's no meat in it, it's full of other stuff.
All the meat I have is canned...
Yeah that's not the greatest, LOL...
In the event that the electricity goes out, I feel it's much too risky to have freezers full of meat though.

There's this...

Could explain why all the meat is missing. People may be hoarding it to sell later.

They're scalpers who buy up all of the asswipe in their area and resell it at hugely inflated prices on Ebay and Craigslist, or out of the trunk of their cars. Some of these assholes have been shut down in places where price gouging is illegal. PWN3D.

as long as fast food, beef jerky and chips is working I have no worries

I don't have a big freezer and I don't keep a lot of food on hand. The stored I went to only had things like beer, chips, candy and some bakery items. No bread, very little meats, no lunch meats, no rice or beans of any kind, no pasta, no cold medicines, milk , etc. Only a few veggies . Everything is gone. These are major stores and one small one that I normally shop at.
I'm pissed and worried. I don't want to go fight these dumbasses and then wait for two hours to get a few items.

This was Saturday:
At around 10:30 AM the next day (Sunday), the meat department at the second Walmart was almost fully stocked again, but there was still no bottled water. I didn't check the toilet paper aisle.
My next door neighbors went to Kroger on the south side of town Sunday and got everything they needed.
They're cracking down on price gougers, so I wouldn't expect the shortages to continue.
Try Walmart as soon as they open at 6 AM, or go to a grocery store that's surrounded by big box stores instead of one near a residential area.

No meat.
No bottled water.
Bread and potatoes running out fast.

I should add that chicken farms and processing plants have elaborate systems in place to prevent the spread of disease, so any shortage of chicken will be purely artificial, i.e., caused by hoarders or scalpers. When people get the message that scalping will backfire on them, as many already have, they'll knock it off.

GG, how are things going for you? Were you able to find food and supplies?

I stayed home other than trying to find groceries at WalMart, Harris Teeter and Food Lion. Also took my kitten to the dog park(its how I pick up chicks) and picked up carry out for dinner. Groceries were impossible to find so I start looking again tomorrow morning.

People looked like they were rushing to buy what ever little random food items was left on the shelves.
