Wonder if this has anything to do with Space Force's first mission, the launch of the ATLAS rocket...

"Comet Atlas May Soon Be Visible To The Naked Eye"

Quote:By late May, Comet Atlas could rival the brightness of Venus in the twilight sky.

Book
If Atlas crashes into the Sun it might cause a chain reaction that destroys the inner solar system.
We can only hope...

Thankfully no nude selfies have emerged.

There's not enough eye bleach, y'all.
Maybe Atlas is Nibiru.
That'd be great...

I'm ready for Nibiru.
The Aliens will show up at the very last moment and pluck up some of us to repopulate another planet.

I wouldn't ascribe any importance to the name of the Atlas rocket in connection with the comet. The Atlas V is the latest in a series of ICBMs named Atlas dating back to the late 1950s. The first rocket of the Atlas series launched 4 Mercury astronauts into orbit before being retired in 1965.
More like the name of the comet in relation to the rocket program.

RIP, Atlas...

Sigh

It's always so disappointing when space doom fizzles out.
