Usually twin flames are male and female and the only difference between you is what's between your legs...

But then the individual egos come into play and get into some kind of pissing contest where it's like, oh, you think you can be me better than I can??? WE'LL FUCKING SEE ABOUT THAT.
And it always falls off a cliff into this cascade of personality contests, arguments, bickering, loathing.
Yet all the while you STILL fucking love each other, not because of the individuality of the person, but because they are ESSENTIALLY YOU, only in a different body...
Which fulfills you in ways you ALONE can't.
So you don't want them because of them, but because they can complete you in a large way that you find satisfying...
Which is why there's SOOO much sexual attraction involved in twin flame relationships.
Just the most insanely toxic load of filth imaginable, all the way around.
I think it's better to go for a soulmate masquerading as a twin flame...
Like a twin flame "stand in" who sorta gives you that JOLT, but it's LESS intense...
So there's less of the EXTREME qualities to spar with.
You'll never have the absolute fulfillment intellectually, emotionally, sexually...
But it may truly be worth that sacrifice just to have a relationship that isn't sooo extreme.

Soulmate could be somebody you meet at the supermarket, exchange a weird experience with, and NEVER see them again... ever.
That's a soulmate.
You could also marry your soulmate and be together for 50 years.
And you could be soulmates with your family. Most likely you are.
These important connections are often referred to as "soul family"...
But in the soul realm, incest is fine, so you might marry your "soul sister" in real life and have no relation besides being husband and wife.
You can be soulmates with animals too.
So yeah, soulmates covers ALL types of relationships of every kind...
Not just romantic by a longshot.
Soulmates are usually pretty gentle experiences...
