A standing seat...
So basically just something to lean on and maybe be at an angle I guess?
Surely they already exist.
Hmmm. I just did a search under a few different terms and surprisingly didn't find anything like what we're talking about.
The idea of a standing seat is that you don't put pressure on your ass. LOL. It shouldn't have a place to SIT... that's why it's a STANDING seat.
Sitting on your ass cuts off blood flow to everywhere else.
That's why I sit/lay if I'm gonna "sit" at all these days...
You gotta evenly distribute the pressure on your body to the best of your abilities or otherwise it's just HORRIBLE for you.
It makes sense to have an angled cushion to stand/lean against, but no seat on it. The most it should have is maybe just some indentations.
Perhaps the biggest issue with the concept of a standing seat is height. I think that would be easily overcome though...
It could be made adjustable by using velcro to adhere 'pillows' in certain places so there would be neck support or some type of back support if needed.

I guess it's a stool.
The original concept came to me when I thought about how a Swan or Duck is standing/swimming but sitting/laying at the same time.

It's not a real pressing issue. You are right. It's more of a lean which you can do with one knee folded resting on the chair and the other foot on the ground. The oriental kneeling on the ground position is kind of like it without any furniture required.

You need to talk to some people and get this made.
Basically it's a SEATLESS computer chair with a high back.
And velcro in certain areas where adjustable height pillow/cushions can stick to.
But the legs on this chair/stand have to be different from the typical office chair.
They'll probably have to extend from the back of the seat for a considerable distance to make it safe for leaning on.
Talk to some folks about it, iron out the kinks and get this thing into production...
Give me one free when they get made and I'll make a couple vids with it and make standing cool again.

And the built on desk thingy is an okay idea but it should be able to fold all the way up and behind the chair on an extendable arm or something. Or just be optional/removable entirely.
