I really love Black Sails.
I wonder if male pirates were into the gay thing or if they just threw that in like
they always do to pander? My angle is accuracy of the period, that's all.

It was just TOO easy to procure da wemmins back in those times.
I'm not convinced that any pirate dudes would settle for a gay-bang
just because they A) Didn't currently have any females aboard or
B) Been too long at sea. After a few good voyages, you'd know what
you were up against out there. You'd make provisions. Women generally
eat less than men so it wouldn't be a major pull on supplies.
Not saying there weren't any gay pirates but I'm not real familiar with that
particular time period. Oh well, hoist a mug for the wenches!! : )
