Back when I was but a ~14 year old MO, I had a Christmas CD of various songs which I notoriously listened to throughout the year, because that's just who the fuck I am.

I can't remember everything on it, sadly... but I have a few top faves I'll share today.

Perhaps a bit predictably, coming in at #1, we have "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee...

As a solid number 2, none other than "Mele Kalikimaka" by Bing Crosby...

And this one, well let me just say...

It got a lot of plays year round...

"The Night Santa Went Crazy" by Weird Al...

It's no secret that Elvis' Christmas album was the greatest of all time...

In fact, it's my favorite music by Elvis in general. Fucking legendary.

#1 from the album...

"Blue Christmas"...

That album is very much a Christmas tradition in my family.
Tied for the #1 spot...

"Santa Claus Is Back In Town"...

It doesn't get better than that.
"White Christmas"...

Alan Jackson's "Holly Jolly Christmas" is the last that I can remember...

This particular version played on a Santa Claus figurine/decoration which my grandparents (boulder tittied granny) gave us, and it was a wonderful gift.
Speaking of more granny magic...

I remember these specific figurines...

She also had these Santa and Mrs. Claus doll/figurines that actually moved...

I remember them being sooo interesting and magical...

I also thought Mrs. Claus was a pretty hot for an old chick.

Dunno if I can find the exact ones.

I remember they held candles...

The detail of Mrs. Claus' face was pretty amazing...

I remember running my fingers over the wrinkles and holding her hand.

They were like this, only prettier and higher quality...

They may have been from the Cracker Barrel store, way back in the day.
oh god my one grandma had a room full of dolls like that, all lined up on a shelf at the ceiling. kinda creeped me out.
I recall circa Christmas Day 2004 as being the height of my Christmas music enjoyment.

I partied alone while the folks were at work...

I dressed up and pretended my crush was there, and danced to my Christmas CD.

It was a coffee and imagination fueled extravaganza which I remember very fondly.

Granny's at Christmas was like entering a holiday wonderland...

Decorations everywhere...

Little Christmas towns and houses like this...

Figurines and dolls everywhere, a big tree, a few little trees...

Ceramic trees, both green and white...

Christmas pillows and blankets and napkins and plates.

And let us never forget the Christmas punch...

Delicious bits of pineapple mixed with fruit juice and ginger ale...

It was a favorite.
Can't forget the divinity either...

Homemade melt in your mouth perfection.
My first memory even took place at one of those wondrous grandma Christmases...
