Amazing news. 2024? That's right around the corner.

He beat out Bezos and Lockheed (who formed a coalition for this, so he beat their entire team).

Musk beats Bezos over $2.9 bln NASA contract (msn.com)
I hope they keep this in mind...

It would be so lonely though. The vastness of space...

Maybe we'll get AI companionship to the point where we feel like we're actually hanging with someone. Hopefully not Hal; something less ambitious, more nurturing of us humanoid types.

On the other hand...

William S. Burroughs believes that our efforts to traverse space in metal machines would be akin to life in the ocean utilizing mobile aquariums. He thinks (or thought, RIP) that we should be expediating our evolution to be able to simply lift into space as a person, and failing that, to do it with consciousness but without physical form. Lots of shit missing from that theory though. Like, you can't colonize jack shit with consciousness, LMFAO. You'd need to at least be jacked into an artificial body. Hmmm... that's interesting. Consciousness jacked into flying machines that are kind of like transformers that can shift from space flight to manual labor on planets, to kicking alien ass if needed, etc. I mean it's not "interesting"; it's whatever.

By 2024 we will all be slaves if we don't fight now
