I decided to record and perform under a new name! It’s a variation of my middle name (just a different spelling) and my paternal grandmother’s maiden name! My new recording name is now going to be Mikhal Zepeda!
I chose her surname because I only JUST RECENTLY found out that the name means “those who grow grapes and work on vineyards” which is absolutely wild to me considering my home, profession and passion now has been found in Viticulture! How fitting is that?! I had no clue and I’ve been here working on this vineyard for a couple months now! In it for the long haul too as I’m being trained and educated so that the current owner can slow down a bit, as well as giving him peace of mind that he’s got someone young, able bodied and competent to keep this place going when the day comes that he’s no longer with us! Talk about a tremendous honor!
But anyway I re did a ton of my songs and even did something entirely new that I’d never done before! I recorded a song in Spanish! I didn’t grow up in a Spanish speaking household and I don’t speak the language very confidently because my pronunciation is terrible but I gave it a shot anyway! I think it turned out kinda cool!
Check it out! It’s one of my favorite Spanish songs called Si Tú Me Dices Ven (Lodo) by Los Panchos!

Hope you all are doing good! Excited to hear what you think, MO!
