Never a fan of the group but... I was Team Kelly.  Hearteyes
You are the resurrection
Child of God and
Goddess absolute
In between all of infinite existence
And the abyss of nonbeing
Holding strands
From everything and nothing
One in each hand
Bringing them together
In a dance of intimate destruction
And violent birth
To merge them
Forever
In the moment when they
Touch impossibly
I need to start writing poetry again...

A poem a day.

I have this long held dream/vision of publishing a book of poetry with a very special dedication.

I can't say what it is...

But I know it'd change my life in a big way.
I wrote a poem MANY months ago that I thought was pretty badass, but it was in some random notebook I don't even know if I still have!

Seems like it was something about driving.

Gosh I wonder where that is.

I'll find it sometime.

I think I might know where it is, but I will have to look for it later.
It wasn't THAT long ago...

I think it was this year.
(((Can't remember my life)))
I can remember the general essence of it and it's really beautiful...

It was sort of an allegory about driving but it was really about the great beyond.

I get to skip to the front of the line, cuz honey, ain't no time to waste...

SlowClap2

It's so fast that we have to process our lives while we're still alive.
There's no end of life review, or at least certainly not a standard one that most get to experience.

We have to do it while we're here because the turnover rate is so lightning fast.

3:37 I love this song so much because it fills me with the same feeling I had when I was 5 and I gave my heart to Jesus in front of the congregation at church.

It was a newly constructed church (big and beautiful) and I was the first person ever baptized there, which I still hold in my heart as a great honor.
City on a Hill was one of the greatest Christian collab albums ever made.

"God of Wonders" is like top of the tops fave, but "You're Here" by Sixpence None the Richer is right up there with it...

Awesome timpani drums.
Actually, all three of these songs are tied, there's no way to choose a fave...

"This Road" by Jars of Clay, absolutely amazing...

Let's not forget Rich Mullins' amazing praise music... not related to the City on a Hill album, but one of my favorite Christian music artists of all time.

He passed away in a wreck on the way to his concert in 1997.

This is my favorite song by him, "Calling Out Your Name"...

That song can move mountains. So powerful.

The hammered dulcimer was Mullins' favorite instrument.

"Screen Door" was a song I always thought was sort of fun and cute...

"Faith without works is like a song you can't sing, it's about as useless as a screen door on a submarine," great message.
That's what all the law of attraction tards mean when they say that you have to take "inspired action" instead of just wishing for things.
As a kid though I have to say Jars of Clay was probably my favorite Christian band.

They had wonderful songs that were chill, it wasn't just shoving the message down your throat, it was REAL, truly good music.

I will have to compile my faves and take a trip down memory lane posting them here.
"Sad Clown" is a great example of a song by Jars of Clay that was just some straight up good music...

In my opinion.
Now this is freakin' OG Jars of Clay right here...

1995. That was probably the first Jars song I ever heard.
That was never my fave song from that album though... it's just the first one I remember.

I always thought "Liquid" was very unique, and still do think so...

Still not my fave though.
I think it's important to remember those songs were made in the total grunge era of music...

They did a great job on this album.
