They said my phone wouldn't work to make calls after 8/01/21...

They gave FOUR DAYS NOTICE.

I immediately started searching the web to verify that this wasn't just a scam/spam situation, but it totally wasn't.

I assume they sent this message to a SHITLOAD of people in this area, and that means that whole SHITLOAD of people were gonna start buying up all the phones locally.

So I decided to immediately get a cheapo phone from WalMart that was on AT&T's "verified to work" list. And it wasn't easy to find one, it was all whittled down to one option by the time I got done searching for a phone.

I use a fairly new Xiaomi Redmi phone and I don't see how the hell the thing WON'T work after this change. I saw a lot of people on various sites saying they'd called customer service and after waiting forever finally were told that their phones WOULD continue to work.

But I wasn't gonna be caught without a working phone so I got the other one just to be safe (plus I just love having an assload of smartphones laying around that I can use as cameras).

I dunno, the whole thing just got me to thinking...

How in the hell are they gonna give people a notice of mere DAYS to get a new phone?? That's like a huge deal for some people.

What is this shit really about??

They're taking down 3G just in time to coincide with StarLink coming online in 2022, that's one thing I immediately realized.

Is there a reason they don't want us using these globally unlocked Chinese brand phones??

A lot of people were speculating that it's all about money, period. And usually I'd agree.

But this? I dunno. It seems like something deeper may be going on.

I think the unlocked Chinese phones may pose some kinda security risk to the cell towers or something. If something like that is possible, I think that's what this whole thing is really about.

StarLink too...

What is StarLink really for?

I think it's all about local space defense.

I think satellites and all kinds of other machinery have been hacked for MANY years, and now the tomfoolery is getting too out of hand...

Now begins the era of space-based defense.

That's what I think.
They want everyone on 5G because the phased array tower signal can pinpoint your exact location.

THEFUNGBRO

Its not actually "going away" just they are no longer supporting it.
3G will be around for a long time for certain things. There is still 2G. 1G. For certain things.
Phased array? lmao its a fucking dipole in a raydome hahahaha
5g the same as all other fucking shit mobile internets it just has a larger spectrum range.
Its not even actually "faster" its just bigger so more fat people can fit which makes it faster.
