Pur and Spry are really the only two brands of pure xylitol gum out there...

I've chewed them both over the years, but I never realized how great xylitol is apparently supposed to be for your teeth...

Here's an informational PDF...

Kind of amazing.

Apparently if you chew too much, it can make you have diarrhea, but I've found that to be WAAAY more true about sorbitol.

I legitimately shit myself chewing too much sorbitol gum once, I'm telling you guys this cuz I love you.

Yup, it was from some damn gas station gum that had aspartame in it too probably.

And you know what's really weird...

It happened to me when I was in American Fork, UT which is where the Spry brand is apparently located!?

Magic
Shoulda been chewing Spry instead...

nod

That's the takeaway here.
According to the info, the effects from xylitol can reverse tooth decay and the positive results can even be permanent in some cases, whatever that means.

I find it really fascinating and I marvel at how clean my whole mouth feels after I chew it!

There's no trace of any gross sugar remnants left on your teeth afterward like with regular gum!
And as much as I love American Fork...

I gotta recommend going for the Pur brand instead of Spry.

Spry is great, nothing wrong with it, it's better than any bullshit you're gonna find at the gas station.

But Pur is much better and costs about the same.

Oh my bad, actually it was Spanish Fork where I shit myself!
It's only like 20 miles away from each other. I just wanna be 100% historically accurate though.
That's important to me.
It was actually Tic Tac gum, now that I recall...

It says xylitol is the first ingredient, so maybe it really was the xylitol rather than the sorbitol which had that effect on me.

That gum has both though.

I guess that would be fine to chew if you couldn't get Pur or Spry, but I wouldn't want to consume sorbitol on the regular.
Here's the post from when it happened...

This is what's so great about having your own site.
Sigh... wow. That is so soothing.

It literally made my eyes feel... warm and kinda like they're vibrating.
Boy I tell ya...

Those xylitol shits ain't no kinda joke.

Sometimes I forget.

Sometimes I forget.
One too many pieces of gum and the next day...
That's the good thing about xylitol as opposed to sorbitol though...

The xylitol just sorta stews and gives you a surprise the next time you slam it down on the shitter, whereas with sorbitol, it's same day diarrhea.
You'd have to chew a whole pack of xylitol gum (or maybe 1.5) to get same day action. I've done it, but you learn how much is "too much" pretty quick.

But sometimes you forget.

Sometimes you forget.
HOOAH.
