I haven't had beets in years, and mostly the only times I remember having them were at grandma's.
I don't remember them being all that terrible.
Maybe not particularly appetizing, but certainly not bad.
And they're a beautiful color.

The only decent earbuds I've heard were a pair of AKGs. I don't know the model number. But AKG makes good headphones in general.
As for comfortable headphones, I like my cheap ($50 US) Superflux HD 668Bs. They have a split pad on top instead of the usual strappy thing that goes all the way across the top of your head. The down side is that they bottom out at relatively low volume compared to other studio headphones I own.
I absolutely hate Sony headphones. They're way too trebly.
