I've been awake for like 30 minutes but I just now remembered it.

It almost felt like the early 80s inside as far as the last time it had been renovated at all. It was nice, aesthetically pleasing without feeling particularly updated.

Toward the end of the dream, I checked out the public bathroom, and it was this long curved hall of well kept white/cream colored stalls.

Anyway, what I remember most was the selection of scandalous denim thongs. And there was one in particular, but it was more like a pair of shorts. TINY shorts, sluttiest thing you've ever seen. The front cut of the "shorts" was sort of rounded where they would sit atop the upper thighs, and the part that flosses your buttcrack was just a thin white ribbon like this wide: __

I just thought I'd share that with you guys.

A lot of dark rich brown tones in the walls and floors, a lot of old but pretty glass. It seemed like an earlier 1900s building that had last been updated in the 80s.
It was more like a thrift boutique.

There was this really beautiful used suitcase in the bags section, toward the end of the dream...

I wanted to get it but I decided not to because I thought maybe someone else may need it more, thinking about the recent Kentucky tornadoes in the back of my subconscious.

Almost looked like a bra, but it was shorts.
most of what you described heavily remind me of 1980s department stores that hadn't been updated since the 60s/70s like gold circle or zayre. in retrospect those designs were horrible, but the nostalgia is there.
Yeah I was thinking that after I typed this thread...

If I consider the aesthetics to be the 1980s, then in reality they were most likely from the '60s or '70s.

Great point, zenba <3
