To me, the joke was slightly sexualized though, it was sort of saying Jada looked hot with the shaved head and should do that sexy GI Jane/Demi Moore shit. Anybody remember "Striptease" (1996)? She had hella long hair in that role, and it was not long before GI Jane.

So it was definitely a slightly sexy joke and maybe that's what triggered Will in part, considering Jada admitted cheating on him.

0:30 exactly, she was upset and that's why he decided he had to go and white knight the whole situation like this is a bar, and not the FUCKING OSCARS. This is an "all star" event that is supposed to have a lot of high style/fashion, class, seriousness. They choose hosts to make the occasion slightly more entertaining and less stuffy. So while I do think the joke was fucked up because of the REASON Jada's head is shaved, people shouldn't be joking about that, it's a symptom of something worse... I do think that Will Smith's over-reaction to Jada was unnecessary.

He reacted to the look on her face like a TRAINED DOG, as if "There's gonna be hell to pay tonight if I don't act in defense of Jada's honor." So I really wonder what life with Jada is like for Will. Is she insanely overbearing or something?? Is she HARD on Will, or is will insecure?? Which is it? Cuz it's one or the other.

Either Jada is super bitchy and controlling in private, and makes Will pay hard if he ever does anything that isn't to her liking...

Or Will is mega insecure about Jada's wandering eye and wants to keep her as his own...

Or Jada has a much more serious illness that only they know about, like a case of lupus or worse.

I personally think, all of their reactions considered, it's that Jada is extremely hard on Will and is a super controlling wife. That's what I think. I think it's a case of pussy power to the millionth degree.

Imagine it. A beautiful woman being a nightmare to deal with in private.

Aside from watching a video of the incident to see what everyone is on about, I’m trying to refrain from following up on this story further. Even if it wasn’t intended as such, the Hollyweird press have seized upon it as a way to try to suck a disinterested public back into their manufactured drama machine.

The main thing that was fake was the joke itself. There is no fucking way that was just an off the cuff joke. That joke was cleared before the show by someone. It's possible Will had no idea, but Chris had to clear that joke with someone.

I think it was written by somebody else entirely, or they told him to come up with an offensive joke about Jada, all for the purposing of inciting a reaction out of Will Smith. The rest was a surprise.

This was not acting. Hence why it took place during the ad break Will waited until the sign said on break to do it.
Why it was released? Well that's another thing. Cos he never actually said anything about hitting him when accepting the award.

I literally haven't even watched more than 10 seconds of that video yet but I KNEW it had to be posted because this is exactly what the hell I was getting at about Jada re: Will's reaction to her reaction.
