It was one of those times that I got woken up for strange reasons at a strange hour which would never otherwise happen...

You know how they say if you wanna remember your dreams, set an alarm to wake you up throughout the night? Well it's something along those lines.

These are the kind of dreams you'd never remember unless you were interrupted during them and woken up by some random twist of fate.

And it was revealed to me how humans can establish communication with insects... a method of language that insects would understand and be able to respond to.

This is the note I took down before it slipped away...

In the dream I saw plain objects, like squares, circles, etc. of varying sizes arranged in a line on a table top, and an insect was examining the quantity, shape, and size of each object in the line up, and was able to understand what the arrangement meant. It was assumed that the insect would be able to respond in some way which we would be able to decipher, and thus a conversation would begin to unfold.

There is a social spectrum among insects that ranges from eusocial (what people might refer to (superficially) as a "hive mind"), to solitary (no connection to other insects).

I'm wondering if your application of math and geometry-based communication would be more or less successful with one or the other end of the spectrum. It's tempting to think it would be more successful among insects who work together.

I think it's been pretty well established by entomologists that insects communicate with vibration, and that this can extend through different elements, such as tiny currents of air, shifting of sands, or ripples in water. I wonder how that might be synced with number, size and shape of objects.

there is a little bird that comes to the back window everyday and chats with my cats for 5 or 10 minutes

all 3 of them are totally into it , making eye contact ,chirping and chattering

when I tool my orange. cat out on a leash the hummingbird would approach him within 3 feet to say hi I guess

we really don't need words because I saw a fine brunette straight black hair today and we made solid eye contact and then she wiggled her butt at me and walked on by , I could smell that sexual massage oil all over her body

Yeah there is a mockingbird here that taunts the outside cats... how apropos for a mockingbird to taunt!

Their perception of magnetic fields would explain why items of varying sizes and shapes could communicate a message to them.

They wouldn't have to examine each item in the way we understand the act...

The items would be interpreted because of the way the magnetic field 'flows' around the objects.
