So... wanna know why I'm awake and posting on this here premium e-biz site at three in the morning? Well, do ya, punk?
In the dorm where I'm staying, there's this old dude who keeps cranking the thermostat all the way up.
Everybody else is sweltering.
Old dude and another guy in the same room with him were going back and forth about it a little while ago.
I suspect they'll come to blows sooner or later.
What temp do you want it at?
(Gotta decide whether I hate you or not.)
Any setting where the heater isn't running 24/7 is probably fine.
This guy cranks it as high as it'll go, and the maximum temperature shown on the dial is frickin' 90. Ain't nobody that cold natured.
I'd say in the summer, I want the temperature indoors at about 82.
In the winter, I think keeping it between 65-70 is good.
I think paying too much (regardless of the season) to condition the air in our oversized boxes that shield us from the glory of nature is just unacceptable and we have to start camping outdoors if we want to live healthier lives.
It's fine to have a house, but I think whenever the weather permits, we should be sleeping outside in the enclosure of our choice.
For some people, it's a big tent. For some people, it's a smaller tent. For some people, it's a screened in porch. For some people, it's a mosquito net tent. For some people, it's the sliced open carcass of a large, wild animal. For some people, it's simply a hammock.
Whatever fits your needs, get it, and get outside!
I like it around 75 in the summer. Most people seem to think it needs to be freezing indoors if it's hot outdoors. Bleh. I don't like cold air blowing directly on me either.
I'm not picky about how cold it gets in the winter because I can always pile on more blankets.
Other inconsiderate shit I have to deal with:
This one dude gets in the shower before me and stays in there for thirty minutes, and uses up all the hot water.
People eat all the sandwich meat thawed out in the fridge, and don't take some more out of the freezer to thaw.
And, of course, the obligatory making noise and waking people up at all hours.

Oh hell no.

He's supposedly leaving for New York in a few days.
And I'm getting my own place in a few weeks at any rate. Just me and my cats. No animals.
You won't believe this.
This is some control freak shit right here.
The old fool who kept cranking the thermostat up? He just came in, set the thermostat to 75, wrapped packing tape around the thermostat so nobody can change it, and walked out.
Does he own the fucking place or something??
I'm guessing not.
Sounds like he has a screw loose.
I'd be wary of that guy.
He's a relative newcomer.
He has a raging sense of entitlement. He leaves dirty pots and pans for others to wash, even though the rules clearly state that everyone has to wash their own dishes.
He's literally said that he's here to take care of his own business, and fuck everyone else. Not the attitude to have when you live with twenty other people.
Meh. I'll have my own thermostat and my own kitchen soon.
