Individual flavored packets of oatmeal are delicious and all, but I think they have way too much sugar, and price-wise, they're a rip off.

To be fair, you don't NEED anything special to flavor your oatmeal... just some chopped up fruit of your choice will suffice. Or heck, eat it plain.

I personally just don't like adding straight up sugar to my oatmeal so I look for the sweetness in other ingredients.

For me, flavored protein powder has been a game changer. I think it's perfect for this use.

In fact, this is all I use it for. I think Orgain is the best brand.

Strawberry is my favorite...

There's also Pumpkin Spice and Horchata which would both be great for the typical apple cinnamon oatmeal.

I finished off a container of Vanilla recently, and I think it's all around the most universal flavor.

I also have a container of the chocolate flavor, but I'm just not that into chocolate. It tastes great though, don't get me wrong.

Oatmeal is really versatile, you could throw any kind of fruit in there and it'd be amazing.

Craisins are indispensable for basically any oatmeal flavor you're going for.

Chopped up dried apricots are great too. Sometimes I use shredded coconut.

Pineapple oatmeal is great. Peach is an obvious win.

The vanilla protein powder works with any type of fruit.

I'd never mix cinnamon with strawberries or pineapple though, that's just wrong.
Strawberries are the only fruit that really makes the oatmeal flavorful all by itself with no other ingredients.
What other food can you put oatmeal in that isn't like... breakfasty??

There have to be other uses for oatmeal.
I mean, oatmeal by itself pretty much tastes like nothing... seems like you could put it in anything.
Binding agent for meat seems to make the most sense.

I like the idea of the oat topped sweet potato casserole though.

Seems kinda weird seeing oats on non-breakfast stuff.
Kinda wanna make oat flour and bake some banana bread. With raisins.
It's a good binding agent in meatloaf and such if you don't have bread crumbs.
I'd use the steel cut oats for that though.
Peanut butter. And I think they make a peanut butter powder. Never tried any but if
it's just powdered PB then it's gotta be good. Good-ish. I love oatmeal but don't eat it
anymore. Flares up my inflammation. : (
