I think it's the injustices.

You can kind of tell where things 'began' by what the 'crazy people' rant about.

For example with this lady...

She's ranting about the children starving, and Germany.

Whatever pushed her over the edge revolves around those issues.

People find things out that horrify them... terrible injustices. And they just snap.
