I feel like it might be a high risk profession though.

Just seems kinda dangerous, kinda edgy.
8 hrs. later and I still want to be a roadkill photographer.

Why are you me....? I used to have a nice ass Canon camera....and what was it filled with? You bet your sweet Kentuckian ass. Full of smashed opossums, bloody does, tire streaked raccoons.
It just seems like a noble thing to do. When taxidermy isn't an option for obvious reasons, these creatures can still have a legacy via imagery.

But when I pass a fallen brethren, a furry or a feathered... I immediately scan around for a place to pull over. More times than not, I find there's almost no place to safely pull aside and get some pics.

Why must there always be so many challenges on the path to our wildest dreams!?

I went through a period when I wanted to photograph inside strangers refrigerators all across the nation.

I was going to publish a book and call it "Refridgernation". I think inside the refrigerators of strangers is so fascinating. Most people are too shy to show what they have inside their fridges, probably because it's dirty inside. Those are usually just gross people, I would never eat at a person's house unless I saw the inside of their fridge.
I saw so many fine roadkill specimens today...

Some were cute. Others were quirkily positioned.

Alas... the treacherous nature of roadkill photography inhibits me from throwing on my hazards, slamming on the brakes and pulling over with camera in hand.

I could easily end up roadkill myself if I did that... and that would be so ironic it would almost be worth it.
Somebody doesn’t appreciate roadkill photography...
