I haven't had very long to think about this, so let me give it time.

But I think this is an insect and fungus dominated planet.
I mean what with all the water?

Definitely shitloads of fungi and spores going on here.

And the perfect mix of water and land for insects to thrive, especially at areas where the two get close to each other.

Oh yeah, I'm seein' it. I'm feelin' it. Seems right.
Maybe all the lifeforms besides fungi and insects are a cross between the two.

I'm not 100% on this yet...

I'm working on it.
I've actually held the opinion for years that the brain is actually fungus. Like a mushroom.

We're mushrooms that grew legs and started walking.

Mycelium = brain stem/spinal cord.

If you’re afraid, I don’t blame you... time to accept it though.
Maybe zombies should say "SHROOMS!!" instead of brains then? Smile
On that note...

I really wonder if eating brains would make you smarter?

Like of course the effects probably wouldn't be conscious...

But I think that it could increase intelligence even on a subconscious level.

This is why I think that we should eat the brains of geniuses and other exceptional people after they die.
I hate Prying Mantis's. They give me nightmares!!!!!!!!

And bad luck

Sure why not. Also check if you have some nice chianti laying around Smile
Here’s an article which corroborates the idea that we are mushrooms that grew legs and started walking around:

Humans: body vehicles with mushroom brains.

Human brain matter has the texture of damp sand
Gritty.
Incredibly valid point, indeed...

As above, so below.

Seriously...

The next time you see somebody out there walkin' around, you just remember this is what they really look like...

Somebody literally parted an entire human nervous system from its meat jacket.

I don't know what to think about that. It's revolting and fascinating at the same time.

Yeah...

But I mean, that's the truth of how we're made and what is really animating these bodies.

That's what the creature looks like.

It's also why AI can never be conscious.

You need all of that to perceive the world and be immersed in it. Cameras and microphones just ain't gonna cut it.

Yep.

It's a sensory system with biological technology over the top of it so that it can experience the world through various senses, by being mobile, etc.

There's no way anything manmade can ever come close to that...

Manmade tech can only ever be a level below nature, at best.
