SECTUAL

Full Version: Literally had THE MOST disappointing shopping experience ever today...

I went to the mall first... American Eagle. It's pretty standard, that's the one good thing about it. Love their pants. It's a constant. I was checking out their shirts though, and they were all like... literally vomit. Literally hurl. Literally puke. I'm like 'Hm, that's weird'.

Then I went to this preppy shoe store and got a pretty bitchin' pair of boots, no complains there. The selection was not bad. Better than most places I frequent, honestly.

So then I go to some other clothing store in the mall. They literally had ONE good shirt. And a jacket that was 7.5/10 moderately righteous. Like... I've seen better, but in the same token I've been looking around and it's hard to find one that ranks above 5.5 in my opinion. So I was cool with that. I began noticing though that all their shirts were like... garbage. Literally. Pure trash.

I get out of the mall because it's a lot to carry and I'm just... done. Plus there were like a bunch of weird mexican dudes walking around in there, literally like roving gangs, and they were staring at me. LOLZ.

So anyway, I'm sitting in the parking lot and I'm thinking, last time I was at Target they had a relatively Trix approved selection of shirts. I decide fuck it, I'm going to Target. After I get a chai from Starbucks of course (delish).

And this is where shit goes awry.

I get into Target... I gingerly approach the clothing section. 100% hopeful, ready to try and hold myself back from buying everything. And slowly... my dreams, one by one, were shattered. Assaulted. Slain. Viciously obliterated.

Every. Single. Shirt. Was pure. Utter. Fucking. Crap.

I am not kidding.

EVERY SINGLE SHIRT... was a steaming piece of shit.

I was wandering around honestly in shock, muttering to myself, "What happened? Target? What the fuck happened?"

There was LITERALLY not a SINGLE shirt in the place that wasn't UGLY AS ABSOLUTE FUCK. Dismayed? No. Disgusted? Yes.

ALL OF THE CLOTHES WERE FUCKING UGLY.

There were like NO basic v-neck t-shirts even. They were all super ugly high neck shirts. GROSS!!! GROSS!!!

So I just put the cart back and walked out of there. Completely disturbed. I was audibly expressing my disgust walking through the parking lot, and as I said "Sooo fucking disturbed" in my valley girl voice, I noticed there was a lady close behind me. So I quickly put my phone up to my ear and pretended to be talking on it.

I digress.

I sat in the parking lot for a fair bit of time, trying to gather myself, trying to understand what had happened to Target.

I looked around at other nearby shopping options. Then I saw Plato's Closet.

I had been there a few times before. So I decided... okay. Maybe they will have SOMETHING.

I go in...

I look through LITERALLY EVERY SHIRT of appropriate size...

I found like 3 shirts.

It was mid-level heinous. Target = top of the charts heinous. So in some ways, it was better. But still honestly hugely disappointing and again, basically ALL of the clothes were SHOCKINGLY UGLY. SHOCKINGLY. And Plato's Closet is like a consignment store, so they get clothes from every brand out there. Trust me I've even seen that place have better days... I found a BITCHIN' dress there once, I've gotten righteous shirts there before too.

What the fuck is going on?? Is it the season?? Are these the fall clothes selections?? Are they trying to make us all look like shit?? Is the trend bland and butt fucking ugly this year?? After seeing the selection at Plato's Closet, that is honestly what I think. I think this year, the trend is BUTT FUCKING UGLY, BLAND, HORRID TRASH.

I am not cool with that...

Thank God I already have enough clothes to bridge the gap... I mean. Yeah I wanted more clothes. Yeah I was feeling down with the idea of getting some specific kinda looks going. Yeah maybe I was being selfish, okay, so what? I'm a girl! That's what we do.

They're trying to make us ugly and look like shit. Fuck that!!! I refuse!!!

Wow. Still taken aback by this. Just warning everybody... there's an agenda here, it's no coincidence. These clothing places must get their orders from the same people who pipe in propaganda stories to all local news stations across the country...

It's a conspiracy.

A clothespiracy.
WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS TO US!?!?!?!?!?!?!

There's like one shirt in there that isn't ugly as sin, but all the dresses are fairly rad.

Thanks babe, I just try to chronicle my experiences and thought processes as closely to reality as possible!!!

Essentially it would appear that the trend in clothing this fall season is shirts which are seethrough and/or have no practical way to wear a bra with them due to the design of the shoulders/neckline (unacceptable). They are shaped like trash bags, and they seem to come only in various shades of mustard and poop. Or gray. Or black, and if black, then they MUST be seethrough, that's just a rule.

What the fuck??

This heinously ugly mustard/poop color theme persisted throughout every store I went to. There was also a lot of green. If it had been chartreuse (a personal favorite of mine), then maybe I wouldn't have found the selections to be so hideous. Chartreuse is a beautiful color which reminds me personally of the 60s-70s, I love it. But not on such hideous clothing.

Even if a shirt were an acceptable color, I still found it shaped like a trash bag. In every store.

So who are these orders coming from? I think they are coming from haters of the current power admin in this country. They want to try and brainwash us to feel ugly and vulnerable, and bland as if we have no use left but to be receptacles for garbage.

They are essentially attempting to dress us all in sackcloth.
Why must the shirts be shaped like trash bags?? They are attempting to take away our identities by draping us in form destroying mustard/poop colored poncho shirts.

I prefer my clothing to fit tightly. I like tight pants, I enjoy fitted shirts.

Why have they forgotten about those of us who prefer tight clothes? Why couldn't they provide at the very least deep v-neck fitted t-shirts? I would have settled for one of those, in the least atrocious shade of mustard/poop or green of course.

That's another thing... some of the greens were unseasonably bright. There was no middle ground. It was either a deep dark green (which is fine, but not my cup of tea) or a blazingly bright shade of green that doesn't even have a commonly known name. It's just 'ugly' and 'matches nothing'... that's what it's called.
The light green is like a cross between aqua and lime green... totally ambiguous, inspiring absolutely no true identity to embrace.

You're so hilarious and fun, Trix! I want to hang out with you and go shitty shirt shopping!
That would have certainly made it a more enjoyable experience...

They are gearing up for their big Hijab fashion push. It is all the rage with the feminists these days. Dull nap sack clothing and hoods. Progressive stupidity at it's best. :)
You're like the new Reviewbrah of clothing.

From a highly rational perspective, I think you're making far reaching conclusions. You only went to a couple of stores, and inventory in stores like Target vary regionally. I wouldn't go so far as to say the current trend is drab and dull. I bet you just had a bit of bad luck is all. What you describe seems extremely odd, almost surreal, though. I would try to check another Target to see if their inventory is any different. Maybe even branch out, and try new stores.

Sometimes you have to go on a full blown fashion-adventure-quest in order to maintain decency in your style. Going to Target is akin to taking a brisk casual walk, whereas if you go into every store at a shopping mall, that's probably a true fashion adventure.
