I remember reading this story once from a Ben Orr superfan...
She was in high school and The Cars came to town. If I remember correctly, she and a bunch of other fangirls went down to the hotel they were staying at and stalked the place until they had a sighting. She took Ben a picture she'd drawn of him and he thought it was great and asked if she was coming to the show. She said yes and he told her she would get a tour back stage after the show.
So that night, she told her boyfriend about it and he freaked out mega hard. They were in the car at the time... he drove her around for hours and wouldn't let her out to make sure she missed the show and didn't get to see Ben again.
Before they were The Cars, they were Cap'n Swing...
