Teal says if she had it to do over again, she wouldn't have shared the truth/her story about being ritually abused, etc. She says it's because people tend to focus on the details of her trauma rather than the 'content' she shares. To me that sounds like an ego problem on her end. Of course people are getting the message in your content. Don't be an ass.
She says people "aren't ready to talk about extra terrestrials" or details about "reincarnation"... and I'm sitting here like, what? Really? Because I think "people" have been "talking about" it since before you were even born, sugartits.
It's not that I don't believe her story, or agree with a lot of the stuff she says... but I think she's being a little bit defeatist about it.
10:45 see I believe there SHOULD be alternative psychological treatments and 'methodologies' employed because the old textbook stuff is a load of hoopla. I don't find Teal at fault in any capacity regarding the woman who committed suicide. The lady was seeing a psychiatrist AND Teal. She was clearly very mentally ill and it had nothing to do with Teal. And actually, 12:15 sounds like the makings of a traumatic experience FOR TEAL. I feel sorry for HER in this matter quite frankly.
14:40 she's right about how they handle suicidal people re: psychologists... they send people to the hospital. They get their phone taken, they get their belongings taken, and they're basically prisoners for however many days. It causes isolation and even more depression.
16:05 she's totally right. I don't disagree with her strategies re: dealing with suicidal people. Again, there need to be innovative approaches to mental health. The old shit isn't working. I respect Teal for persevering through the onslaught of hate toward her approaches. Her methods sound pretty good to me.

You can feel alone in a room full of people, and at the end of the day, it's a choice to get out of that dark place. It's a CHOICE to not feel alone. It is. But I think the expanded version of what Teal is saying with this is that if we addressed the emotional reasons (trauma etc.) behind why these people feel suicidal, that feeling of aloneness would be mitigated.
