The site looks a whole lot better than the last time I looked at the place, chronicled in this thread:

http://www.sectual.com/thread-4167.html

I had a few gripes with it the first time I checked it out.

Now it would appear they have revamped it and stepped up their game.

I'm using the light gray theme.

At least they have a notifications system...

Right off the bat that makes them 1000 times better and more promising than dTube.
*Browsing videos* I might actually register on this one. Cool.
I'm actually diggin' it.

Gotta say though...

My asshole is a lil burnt after that whole Vid.Me thing, and I know a lot of people feel the same...

Putting your time and energy into uploading vids, commenting on vids etc., only to have a site 'go out of business'...

Can leave you with a bad taste in your mouth and it's unfortunate we're being put in this position because YouTube has become a totalitarian regime.
You could ponder and determine an appropriate amount of energy you´re willing to put into a site like this, at this stage. Then ponder it again if the site grows larger. At least then it´s more in your control and you won´t feel like you wasted too much time.
Why do you need an alternative?

I have a universal darkener plugin for Firefox.

Are you still on Gab? I followed you on there.

In related news, Dr. Jerome Corsi is the first conservative YouTube personality to wise up and start moving his content and audience to Gab. The place is really hopping now.

More and more, it's looking to me as though the so-called "woke" crowd on social media are sleep-walking fame whores with Stockholm syndrome. As I explained to a sleeping audience on Gab, hanging around YouTube and taking their abuse is just like a battered housewife sticking with the drunk husband who beats her -- he'll never change his ways until she walks out.

Although I'm gaining new followers hand over fist on Gab, engagement on posts is almost non-existent. Same on Twitter. Posts that link to external content seem to get more engagement than posting your own thoughts. That rather proves our point that owning your own website is the way to go -- publish on your own site, then link spam it on the social networks.
Yep, social networks regardless of how much of an improvement over the old-guard they might be are still only good for driving traffic to your own site. You gotta understand, I never used Twitter really. The only fun I ever had on there was reading Paul Joseph Watson’s tweets and replying to those. Then I heard the shit they’re doing re: arresting people for tweets and I got pissed off and deleted my Twitter. Minds.com I will use as an FB replacement, but Gab is not something I foresee spending time on though I of course have an account. I try to post my new threads on these alternative platforms, and other than that, it’s hard for me to be interested in anything but my own site.
I click off BitChute most times I decide to try and watch something... because it just takes too long to load and the red bars animation is annoying.

Tracy Beanz said one of those sites -- D Tube or Bitchute, I forget which -- is so slow that it's anybody's guess if the page will load, much less let you upload a video. I'm guessing she meant Bitchute because D Tube worked fine when I was there yesterday.
Definitely was talking about BitChute.

DT is such an unfortunate thing because it would be promising if it wasn't for the fact that you literally can't delete videos and you can't moderate any comments left or anything normal like that, whatsofuckingever.

Which is just fucking stupid and unattractive and makes me want to delete my entire Steemit account, but oh wait, YOU CAN'T.

Ahahaha...

Fuck Steemit and fuck dTube.

I hate their fucking names anyway, they sound fucking stupid and so does BitChute.

FUCK YA! Big Grin

Set em straight!
BitChute has turned out to be a much longer standing YouTube alternative than I figured it would. Still isn't out of the woods yet, may or may not survive... who knows? So far, it's been pretty decent.

There are some shenanigans and some aspects of the site that endanger its likelihood to survive. But those things can be fixed, and otherwise it's been a good alternative.

The issue is...

People usually don't start looking for an alternative until something goes wrong.

And for a whole lot of normies on YouTube, something's about to go wrong.

Views and subs have been flatlined for basically everyone, you hear people talk about it in their vids all the time, no one is safe.

They have made sure your videos don't show up in the notifications and maybe even in the upload lists.

They have limited profiles so that (unless videos are put into playlists), on a mobile device, only so many videos on a user's channel will show, and there is no way to see the rest. The list simply stops after so many videos.

They have employed a great many covert tactics which over time are effectively killing the platform... or at least killing the ACTUAL USER experience of the platform, i.e. the content creators and the viewers.

At this rate, YouTube will be a known floater in 2 more years, with even the normie morons well on their way to establishing themselves on an alternative platform.

It's about damn time.
That sorry excuse for a search feature was one of the worst aspects of Bitchute.

If they can fix it, it may be a more acceptable platform.

Regardless, I can rarely get videos to play on there.

Never having heard of bitchute, the fact that you created a channel there is currently the only draw for me. I bookmarked that shit so fast it was like it was already bookmarked. Is the 'insert-a-video' list something you have control over--could you add bitchute if you desired--or is it an unchangeable preset?
