There is a lot of aluminum exposure in this modern world and aluminum causes alzheimers but apparently drinking mineral water that is high in silica (I use fiji myself).
Anyway the scientists tried this drinking 1 litre of mineral water a day and what they found was the silica in the water could break the blood brain barrier, bond with the aluminum atoms and this bonding enabled people to urinate out the aluminum particles.  In 13 weeks it removed up to 70% of the aluminum.  If they had alzheimers and drank the silica water it either got better or did not progress any farther.
