And I'm not even talking about the mind-rotting "modern art" that makes literally no sense and serves only to dumb down anything it touches.

I'm talking about other kinds of art...

WHAT'S THE POINT OF THIS!?

WHAT'S THE FUCKING POINT OF THIS?!

WHY?!?!?!?

Whoever paints these is very talented, they're wonderful paintings, just great, IT'S GREAT.

But on COFFEE CUPS?? WHY?!

FUCKING WHY!?

WHY ON COFFEE CUPS, FUCKING WHY?! WHY?!?!?

It's not the chick posing like the painting that makes no sense...

Because at first I was like, wow, this is pretentious.

But then I got down to the root of why it's so obnoxious...

It's THE FACT THAT IT'S ON A COFFEE CUP.

Why the absolute total fuck would someone spend time PAINTING A PAPER COFFEE CUP...

Are they going to SAVE the coffee cup?? Are they going to SELL the coffee cup? And if so...

WHY NOT JUST PAINT IT ON A FREAKING CANVAS INSTEAD?! WHO'S GONNA SIT COFFEE CUP PAINTINGS AROUND THEIR HOUSE?!

AGH!!! AGH!!!

https://www.instagram.com/p/BbAIyQrnlek/

It's very nice art and it deserves so much better than to be on a paper cup.

This is just the ULTIMATE EXAMPLE of a throw away culture utilizing its most popular tools in hopes of being TRENDY and POPULAR.

"I GOT IT!!! LET'S TAKE PAPER COFFEE CUPS AND SPEND OUR VALUABLE TIME PAINTING ARTWORK ON THEM SO WE CAN GET POPULAR ON INSTAGRAM. THEN LET'S THROW THEM IN THE FUCKING TRASH!!!"

It even SAYS right there in the description of the IG page "Not For Order"... and there's no link to a store, so I assume they DON'T sell these.

If they were EVERRR going to sell them, the time would be FUCKING NOWWW. They won't be relevant AT ALL in years from now.

Am I to believe they're actually KEEPING these cups themselves? Also, WHY?! WHO DOES THAT!? It would take up so much space.

Wow man...

Agh.

See now this is more like it:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BgqueRaFB04/

Paintings on canvas and in frames LIKE THEY FUCKING SHOULD BE.

And NO...

NO.

DO NOT misunderstand me.

I am NOT saying you can't paint ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you want.

I am saying, BY VIRTUE OF WHAT THEY ARE, paper coffee cups are DISPOSABLE.

They're to be THROWN AWAY.

So when you see one that has a WORK OF ART ON IT...

It's only natural to feel some kind of obligation to keep around what is essentially a PIECE OF TRASH, just because someone took the time to paint the damn thing.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BhYuMIVFFwn/

WHY?! WHY?!?!?!?!?

Agh.

Wow.

THIS ALONE has made me damn near reach my 'enough internet for one day' quota.

disgust
WHY WOULD YOU PAINT WORKS OF ART ON A PIECE OF TRASH!!??!?!!?!?!!!!?!?!1?1!?
1?1!?!!!
/1

Why not PAINT ACTUAL RE-USABLE COFFEE CUPS AND SELL THOSE FUCKING COFFEE CUPS LIKE A SMART PERSON!!?!?!?!??!/!!

WHY?!@?#@?#!

WHY@$?#?%#?%@#%@#?5
*slams face into desk repeatedly, blood spurting, fragments of bone flying*
Agh, okay well. I feel better.
It is silly to paint on paper coffee cups.

Like.

The jury is with you on this one.

Maybe it would make more sense if they sold the cup to Starbucks or whatever and they mass-produced the cups and used it in their stores... Sold them for a little bit of extra money, gave that extra money to charity... That´d be something.
It's just an attention getting device to prove they are clever, and have the patience to combine a virtual with a "real", and make the huddled masses on Instagram go, "ooohhh wow!!!!", "coooollllll!" Grandiose, self congratulatory back slapping, more or less..........
Artists arent very practical hence the term "poor, starving artist" lol!!

Great point.
Can't eat gelatin anything. I was afraid of it when I was a kid, and I still can't stomach the thought of eating that stuff. :) Why was I afraid of it? Because my 1-2 year old mine thought it was a strange living thing from the jiggling motion. They used to entertain guests by wiggling it and placing it in front of me, and watching me scream with fright:)
No, I never see any art, only parts of the universe.
