Do you know your Dark Passenger?
Às̩e̩.
I found this searching the phrase to see if there are any good explanations of what the 'dark passenger' is...

http://dexter.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Passenger

I've never seen this show (not even once) and really don't know anything about it.

This definition of the 'dark passenger' is flawed in a 'made for TV' kind of way...

In other words, it's a 'dumbed down' definition.

Using the analogy from that link, the driver is not controlled by the passenger... the driver is in control of the vehicle. The passenger is at the mercy of that truth. The passenger is an observer, just riding along... conversations take place between the driver and the passenger, etc.

The 'dark passenger' isn't always evil... in my opinion, an evil dark passenger is only as common as truly evil people are. Having said that, in my experience, it is dark. And 'dark' doesn't mean evil. We're all dualistic beings, light and dark... that doesn't make us evil. Although some are totally evil, LOL.

The dark passenger is often a voice of wisdom, typically a specialized type of wisdom, knowledge/experience in a particular field. The dark passenger typically 'rides along' with an embodied being, as part of the passenger's karma. This is why the dark passenger is 'dark'. They are assigned to experience things through a vessel (passenger seat) for the purpose of 'community service', on the Universal level.

I'm filing that away under "ideas for future writing projects".

Reminds me of a really good book I read when I was 18 and working in a dinky little pizza joint at the mall.

Quote:Stark's epitaph says it all: "Not A Very Nice Guy."

LOL!!!

Quote:Pangborn eventually learns that Thad had an unborn twin brother who was absorbed into Thad in utero and later removed from his brain when the author was a child.

It's a fascinating concept.
