The Pacific Ocean is way too big...

It only makes sense that more landmasses would appear in the Pacific.

i'd argue it's less about more landmass appearing in the pacific and more about a finite amount of water covering less of an expanding toroidal globe.

i'm sure you remember those future navy maps... never saw one of those about the whirrled outside of north america.

I think a massive amount of water (inner earth sea) is ejected during these earth expansions.

Of course I don't necessarily believe that liquid ejecta forms a new moon every time...
