Basically at room temperature the secret is to use clean utensils to get the pickles out and don't let anything get into the juice because that's when bacteria starts forming or whatever.
The Polish pickles my ex used to love, cos she half Polish, they have the vinegar and herb solution, they can never really go off they are already off. And they make you fart like a champ!
