I saw a video the other day where the uploader was convinced the Chinese government was using an antenna array at the observatory to spy on some facility nearby. I'll see if I can find it again.

Or maybe someone who worked there and got fired and went batshit emailed them they planted a bomb? But why no reports of Bomb teams? Or maybe they said they were coming to shoot everyone? "Credible threat" if it was chinese spying it would be CIA NSA you wouldn't have even heard about it.
the chinese spy explanation does not make a sufficient amount of sense to me. they already got a full copy of everything at los alamos, courtesy of bill clinton and wen ho lee. they would already have a physical asset in place to relay info if they were interested. furthermore, the sunspot, NM location is not the only one of these that got shut down, there are several other stations that also got shut down. therefore, spying on a particular missile range bears no relevance to the other locations and thus cannot be the explanation for sunspot. i also do not think they'd shut down a post office and remove an entire lil town due to some internet hacking.

And thank goodness because let's be honest, the 'conspiracy theories' are getting a tad out of hand.
