Full Version: How do you angle the staple??

I see most people place the staple in the corner, horizontally with the top of the paper, but I don’t think that makes a lot of sense. I think there’s more damage done to the paper every time it’s pulled back and folded at that angle.

I like to place the staple diagonally in the corner, a good length away from the very corner edge, and I feel that this placement makes more sense for when the pages are pulled back and folded. I’ve never had a page rip at the edge of the staple using this angle.

I do mine the same way as you, but I put it in the right corner instead of the left because you can start reading the next page quicker when you flip to it.

You can faster pages together with a staple. Make a dog ear (fold the corner down), make two small tears in the dog ear to form a small tab, and fold the tab in the opposite direction of the dog ear fold.

Stick with me, kid. You'll be McGuyvering like a boss in no time.
