Maybe I've made a thread about this before, cuz it's certainly not my first rodeo with these "imagined" cityscapes, or layouts of towns that aren't accurate to real life.
But these places, the buildings, everything...
It seems so incredibly real.
IS it real??
It it from another time? Past, or future?
Or is it another dimension?

The last time I had a dream about this particular town/layout, I was looking at the "main street" aerially.
That was years ago.
This time, I was navigating the area at ground level, and the setup was exactly the same.

Some of the recurring dreams take place in towns/cities that don't even exist (to my knowledge), and some of them are places that are supposed to exist in towns that I have lived in.

The town's dream layout has a distinct theme too... some of the buildings seem Roman, or Greek. There's this sense of ancientness about them, but they LOOK new. There are fast food places too... in the dream I remember thinking "THIS building is supposed to be here, but this one, no." Yet after waking up I realized that none of the buildings were accurate to the town's real layout, but they look exactly the same as every other time I dream about it.
It's like there's a dream dimension version of places, and there's a waking reality version of them.
It just sorta blows my mind how the layouts rarely change in dreams, and they're not even real... so to render that imagined cityscape so accurately, the same every time, the subconscious mind must have that exact map of the city/town stored somewhere.

But how did it come up with that layout in the first place?? Is it real, or a construct of our own mind?? And why build a whole fake construct when we could simply access our memories of what the town really looks like?

The whole entire thing seems like a computer program to me. That's the sense that I'm left with about the whole thing.

Or maybe somehow we're visiting a real city somewhere, but we don't know where it is or what it's called, so we choose the name of a city we're familiar with and that's why nothing actually looks accurate to real life.

I think these dream places are real.

When I woke up, I remarked that I felt like I had been "on a planet in a galaxy far, far away."
We've definitely talked about this before. Here's one of my old posts. I'm almost certain I posted about it in more detail somewhere else.

These two posts of mine, spaced several years apart, recount the same dream.

You know, the kind of place where you can never find the exit. I was in a place like that once, trying to find my way out. As I was waiting for the elevator, a man came out of the elevator in a panic, screaming his head off. He'd gone mad because he couldn't find a way out.

Or a guy running around frantically, screaming his head off, because he couldn't get out either.

We were talked about this and AI dreams in another thread.
Also, these could be subliminal programming for those new cities TPTB are pushing.

Okay, I remember now.
These discussions have taken place throughout several threads over the years.
I even made one that is vaguely about this same topic...
"Do you have recurring settings where your dreams take place?"
https://www.sectual.com/thread-16179.html
But I think this thread needed to be made today, because what I experienced in this particular cityscape was different from anything I was referencing in that original thread. These are different cities/towns that I am dreaming about now. I forget all the landscapes that recur in my dreams. There's a variety of them.
There are more of them being added...
That thread was from 2019, and my recurring dreamworld cities seem to be evolving since then. They're new within the past several years.
My hometown is one of these cityscapes, and I have only in recent years started having dreams that involve its "main street" area... whereas before, my dreams only took place in the exact location that my house was in.
I am familiar with the town, having lived in it for almost 2 decades, lol. So why is this "fake" layout the default that my subconscious mind is going to? Why not just use the real one?

You know how when you dream about a familiar place, sometimes it has that over exaggerated nightmare tinge all over it? Lol. Well I'm no stranger to those kinds of dreams, based in this same town. But I've rarely ventured outside of the area my actual home was in before now. I remember ONE dream that I had several years ago (probably near a decade by now) and I went maybe a block beyond where my house was, and there were businesses there which didn't actually exist.
Now I'm going several blocks away from the "origin" point of my house, and this is where all the "new" buildings are.
There is a building on main street that I have a very involved history with and I've dreamed about it MANY times. Whenever I see the outside of the building in that dream, the surrounding area is the same as I remember it in real life.
The locations that I've dreamed about recently are between that main street building on the outer edge of town, extending to a few blocks away from where my house is.
This whole entire "new" area bears literally no resemblance to the real town, yet in the dream it is ABSOLUTELY that town. There are even complex roadways, crossings, etc. that I have a pretty fucking hard time believing I could make up. There are neighborhoods just off the main street, every side street and home is complex in detail, back yards, side yards, alleyways. I mean this is a COMPLETE landscape.

And the town is populated like a full fledged city in these dreams, whereas in real life, it is not that big. The businesses are large, lots of business booming, the traffic is bad, there are museums which don't exist there in real life. There are very tall buildings that would only be in a city, not a small-ish town.
It's just bizarre. I know it's real. I just dunno if it's another city ENTIRELY, that actually exists somewhere, or if it's in another TIME.

What's weird about it is that the city has all its same boundaries as it did when it was a smaller town, but the buildings are larger/taller, and closer together.

Which would indicate this may be in the FUTURE.
The large Greek/Roman building is a big museum that seems attached to a luxury hotel, and it's on a corner off the main street. Across from much smaller individual buildings that seem to consist of fast food and other eateries, then whole blocks of buildings with chain stores right beside each other like you'd see in a city like NYC or something.

I know it's attached to a hotel because I was trying to find my way out of the hotel...
It was a huge building, and I came out into the lobby of the museum, which was this big circular room (made of cream white marble looking stone) with various hallways leading off in different directions, lots of windows wrapping around where you could see the main street, and the side street.
The desk guy looked at me like I was nuts, and I went out the main array of doors that leads to the side street in front of the museum/hotel.

It felt old, but it looked new. It wasn't super modern... it seemed like it was trying to preserve/maintain some of its history in certain areas. Thing is, this town has no such history that I'm aware of. Maybe it just hasn't happened yet.
This did not seem like an overly modern world where AI runs everything. Certain things did seem improved though... the structure of the roads, the traffic... they seemed different than the kind we have now.
People were driving the vehicles, they weren't driving themselves, at least not that I noticed. There were lots of different kinds of transport being used. I could tell there was a public transport system (busses, which it doesn't have IRL), people on old school bikes as well as motorized bikes, lots of people walking because everything is pretty close together.
It seems like a world maybe 100-200 years into the future, but it's like the tech stayed not too far above the same level we have now.

It is not a nightmarish place... other than the weird feeling of being lost inside a large complex of buildings, that's sorta nightmare-y.
But I wouldn't mind living in this city in actual real life. It feels edgy, super busy, sorta snotty, even a little uppity. But it has a shitload of righteous places to eat and shop and it's... not that bad.

The hotel was interesting too.
It was a luxury hotel, no doubt about it... somehow connected to this VERY nice museum building that seemed circular in shape, at least on the inside. Circular from the aerial view in the first dream of this type I had years ago. But from ground level, I didn't notice the circular shape of it besides along the wrap around windows and doors... it was almost like it was circular inside and on the top, with a square outer shell around it. No idea.
Anyways, I had been staying at this hotel in the BARGAIN UNIT. So it was like a large apartment, several rooms and a big living room area, multiple bathrooms. But the catch was that multiple people can stay there, so some random stranger can come and occupy one of the rooms inside the apartment at any time. It was like a hostel but WAAAY nicer and huge.
This lead to an awkward situation when I was trying to get my stuff together to leave. I had been the only person occupying that apartment for the length of time I had stayed (days), but this guy had apparently come in during the night. I didn't know he was there, so I went in to check one of the rooms and make sure I hadn't forgotten anything, and he basically barked at me to GTFO cuz he was hungover or something and I didn't even know he was in there. He threw a shoe at the door while I was closing it.
So after that, I was trying to leave the hotel with all my stuff, and there were people waiting for me outside a restaurant closeby. These people were low key appalled that I had been staying in the bargain unit because it was risky since any weird dude could just come in during the night, and we might be alone together. I couldn't find my way out of the hotel, and that's when I ended up in the museum lobby and went out of the main doors.
I went through many HUGE rooms in this hotel/museum building on my way out though, every single room had like 3 story high ceilings, huge chandeliers and other fancy lighting, cream marble everywhere, gold outfittings, crazy huge staircases, multiple lounging levels with stuff in display cases, lots of well dressed rich looking people everywhere just like hanging out or something.
