Yeah, I can admit it.
I'm a longtime Coldplay fan.
The classic Coldplay songs and albums hold a special, even magical place in my heart.
In this world, some of the greatest love isn't even shared between people...
It's shared between places and people. Between the macro of existence, to the micro of existence... a special gift of knowing. A feeling of connection that you know isn't just your imagination, or your mind playing tricks on you.
Feelings of being special to something far greater than yourself... a signal that catches your eye and lets you know something is watching. A connection that is established against all odds, piped down from the heavens, to your little tiny point of mirrored origination.

I knew a guy named Chris when I was about twelve... LOL, from church. He was a couple years older than me. He looked exactly like Chris Martin, Coldplay's lead singer. Strange coincidence they'd look the same (I mean STRIKING) and have the same name. Damn clones... nothing new under the sun. Chris has a great sense of humor. He wanted to be a white rapper like Eminem. ROFL. He tried to get me to suck his dick in the back of the church bus. Of course he wasn't successful, but I had to admire his determination.
He and I talked on the phone a little bit. I was a very sheltered child and talking to somebody on the phone was a big deal to me. He kept me company somewhat during a strange time in life. We'd talk on the phone while we watched Chappelle's Show on Comedy Central. Sometimes I'd get tired of talking to him and just hang up. He'd call right back and be like, "Lost you there for a second!" Ahahaha. Poor kid, he just didn't get it. He was a special one... wore some awesome cologne too. I think he said it was Old Spice, but I'd always fuck it up and say it was Old English... it became a joke with us that he wore furniture polish as cologne.
He made sure he called me right after midnight on my 13th birthday so he could be the first to wish me a happy birthday. That was sweet. We never talked anymore after a few weeks, never really saw him at church.
He ended up knocking some chick up 4 or 5 years later... no idea what became of him after that.

I always thought this was a really cool music video...
[The Scientist - Coldplay]
There were two Coldplay CDs that were the most special, Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head.
We'd take vacations to Canada, we'd drive... it was about a 2500 mile trip there. We once listened to those two Coldplay CDs over and over again while we were there, and on the way back, we rotated between the two and it was like a Guinness Book of World Records kinda shit we were going for. It's funny that we actually did that.
It was a special time in life. One of those times that prove beyond the shadow of any kind of doubt that wishes and dreams really do come true.
This is for you, green eyes...

X&Y was a good album... it was a little less of a favorite than the rest, but still very valid. Fewer exciting memories attached to it. But there are a couple of songs that do stick out.
X&Y's a good song when it starts taking off...
[X&Y - Coldplay]
What If was an excellent song too, probably my favorite off the album:
[What If - Coldplay]
Twisted Logic was epic too though... tough call between those two, it had an interesting message:

Death and All His Friends was great... lovely memories there. Great song, and the last Coldplay album that was even worth mentioning. I haven't listened to any of their new music. When you start collaborating with "artists" like Rihanna, your goose is cooked. Stick a fork in it, it's done, you're a sellout.

In my opinion, Strawberry Swing was the best song from the Viva La Vida/Death and All His Friends album...
[Strawberry Swing - Coldplay]
This is the other album that is strongly tied to my memories of vacationing in Canada. My dad refused to listen to this album at first though, it was too new for him and he didn't really wanna give it a chance. We did end up listening to it a bit though, and he liked a few of the songs. His favorite was Viva La Vida, which I didn't really like all that much. I dunno, I guess it's kinda the 'man song'.
Strawberry Swing though...
It reminds me of this Canadian dude I had a huge crush on... Todd. He hung out across the street from our vacation house. I was so excited to wake up and get the chance to see him every day. I was so excited I didn't even eat. This woman he was in love with lived there, so he'd always go see her. We had that house for about 9 years, and long before Todd, when I was younger, this kid lived across the street who I had a mad crush on. I was 11 and he was 14. Loved him so much. But no Coldplay songs remind me of him.
Back to Todd... I was 18 and Todd was 42. A gruff Irishman, and he wouldn't pay me any attention. At all. I was so desperate for attention from him. He was so great. I caressed his hair once. Me and some other teenage girls used to hang out at the house across the street because their mom lived there (it had three apartments). One of the girls wasn't related though, and she was a lot of fun. She was my little accomplice. We tormented Todd, we just wouldn't stop. We used to get him to drive us down the cove in his muscle car. We'd giggle with each other, "We're in Todd's car, teehee!" He kept playing "Keep On Loving You" by REO Speedwagon. He said he didn't even like the song, but one of his special ladies made the CD for him and he just thought it was funny.
Such a great guy... balls of steel. Never caved once to a couple of obnoxious little teenage girls constantly flirting with him... never showed any kind of weakness, never paid us any mind. He did give me a hug though, just before I left. We were all at his parent's house (amazing people), saying goodbye. I couldn't believe it, Todd hugged me of his own volition. It was one of the happiest moments of my life... to hug Todd. I was so excited, I hardly remember what it felt like. Haven't seen him since. I still love Todd.

I need to stop smoking weed. I can't remember shit. You've got your whole life on total recall like you're reading it out of a biography, lol.
Sounds like you have a special relationship with music, that's awesome.

What a sweet memory! You're so intelligent, I'll bet you're always way ahead of most guys you ever deal with.

I always went to the amusement parks and would find the hot girls standing in line waiting for a ride , once we got going thats when I could start making my moves as they are basically trapped for a couple minutes strapped in and such . It never felt wrong to me at the time but I guess it wasn't exactly proper behaviour , my sex drive was just way stronger than any thoughts about decency or asking permission . There was no guidebook so I just did as I pleased and got smacked more than once .

Coldplay had some excellent fuckin' songs man. No doubt about it. Maybe their new shit sucks but whatever... all the stuff they made in the early 2000s more than makes up for it.

[Fix You - Coldplay]
This was never one of my top faves, although I did listen to it and I did like it.
For some inexplicable reason, I have it in my head today.
Kinda reminds me of NDEs. Lol. What doesn't remind me of NDEs or UFOs/aliens at this point though.
Coldplay was good about working up to a crescendo that totally validated their "sleeper" songs.
