The narrator pretending to be older than he really is, or the commenters who think he's even older than he's pretending to be.
He's clearly a young person claiming to have experienced things a Generation Xer might have experienced. Yet most of the people in the comments think he's a Boomer.
I'm down with the "OK, Boomer" meme, but one should at least make sure they're saying it to an actual Boomer. Otherwise you look just as stupid as the person you're saying it to.

The "ok boomer" meme is the most unforgivably obnoxious meme since the "dindu nuffin" craze.

Absolutely fucking atrocious.
It aptly describes how out of touch the Boomers are though. Memes become memes because they're true.
At any rate, it's no more cringeworthy as all of these youngsters trying hard to convince people they're a few decades older than they are. What's up with that shit anyway?

Or because they've been artificially bolstered to finally penetrate the mass consciousness and therefore become popular only because of mindless, irrelevant repetition and adoption by lemmings who latch onto anything they think is gonna make them look/sound cool...

Gotta be trendy on their way over the cliff, y'know.
Why would you be interested in even continuing to listen and watch this past the first minute let alone delve into the comment section? But then again moths and insects still exist and they are interested in all types of shit especially banging their heads continuously into a window pane when an open door leads outside just next to it. Sometimes I grab the fly in a glass and let him out and sometimes I accidentally crush the guy with the rim because he’s still trying to escape his freedom. But hey.. nature is stupid. It deserves to be dominated.
Who do you suspect artificially bolstered it?
Yes, the constant repetition is annoying. That doesn't make it any less apropos.
Read the comments of any video with a lot of views, and you'll find certain phrases repeated over and over because they didn't bother reading the comments before posting it again. In particular, "But can it run Crysis?" has been beaten to death.

I'll grant you that I don't think the "ok boomer" meme was artificially bolstered...
But many have been.
That's all I'm saying.
Usually the most atrocious and obnoxious ones were forced.
I have not looked into the "ok boomer" meme enough to know whether it was truly grass roots.
Not saying it was fabricated...
Wouldn't be surprised though.
I just don't hang out in those memetard circles...
I think it is so fucking stupid and I'm glad that those are not my people.

Why would you waste your time composing a lengthy reply to a thread that's obviously beneath you? Because you're as bored as I am and trawling teh interwebz in a futile attempt to alleviate the boredom. So get off your high horse, pal.

And you assume I do? I've never seen a meme being created firsthand. I don't know anyone who intentionally created a meme. The people you're talking about sound like they're from 4chan. That seems to be where most of the forced memes come from.
Anyway, this thread wasn't even about memes. It was about some idiot pretending to be an old fart and a bunch of other idiots thinking he's an even older fart.
I think this topic is worth exploring because it reminded me of a song on the radio a few months ago sung by a kid who was obviously singing about things that happened in his grandparents' day, as though he had lived it himself. That trend is just as obnoxious as any worn out meme.
So the question remains: What's up with that shit?
Sorry if it's a touchy subject, but I demand answers.

0:27 the narrator says the story is from a "staff writer"...
No idea, I am not watching this vid because I just never would.

I think that is a little more endearing than the meme problem...
Like yeah, we know broseph wasn't alive 80 years ago, but it's cute that he apparently has an affinity for that time period...
I've seen weirder...

Of course in the same token, anything on the radio is fake just like anything on TV...
So the question is who wrote the song for the kid and why is the nostalgia for LONG gone days of old apparently being popularized?

McFly, you seem to be wanting answers, that’s a step in the right direction...
Consider the 95 year old World War II veteran who was sent to the battlefield at the tender age of 20.
He sits with his wife of 74 years reminiscing yet conscious of experiencing a sudden heart attack, sending him into the afterlife.
Where were you 34 years ago? I’m assuming you are 33.

Okay, I'll tell you what I think is the salient aspect of the video then.
The narrative contains numerous historical errors that this staff writer simply couldn't have made if he had actually been part of the scene he's writing about. He's clearly full of shit, and his regular viewers clearly lack the basic knowledge to see in which direction the bullshit lies.
Noticing a trend, I naturally wondered why this particular brand of bullshit is so popular of late. Unfortunately, the litany of ad hominem attacks has dampened my interest in the subject, so fuck it.

Exactly, it's made up...
And probably even pandering to a meme...
Which is suspicious, I'm just saying.
