But since we're here, I'll tell you what I did differently this time. I made the glaze very thin so that it wouldn't turn into a hard, burnt crust on the grill. The ribs basically boiled in a tray full of sugary, spicy juice for awhile until the glaze thickened into the usual syrup.

The red board troll was a specific poor-shaming troll, usually about whatever the poster was eating at the time. It was always "ME:" and "YUO:" (deliberately misspelled), not people's names.

I don't think anyone took it seriously. The gag was that all red board posters were "e-biz tycoons" who owned a "mantion" and a "yot". The original site existed to make fun of the first dot com boom and bust, when a lot of people thought they were going to get rich from building a website without actually having a workable business plan.

The deliberate misspellings were sometimes based on accidental misspellings that became part of the lore. Sort of like how hackers started spelling "the" as "teh". They were called "FCisms" after the initials of the original board name, FC.
