I mean, sure, it would take months to rewire most people who need it...
But afterward, they'd be cured of their issues.
It's just too bad we can't do this.

And anybody who says that this kinda stuff has been tried before and it DOESN'T work, well, I would put forth it's only been tried by dumb, unenlightened fucktards who have the WRONG idea of what "cured" means anyway.
I'm sure it HAS been done in the right way, at some point in time, but no doubt very small rehabilitative groups were responsible... so nobody ever talks about it.

I can't 100% discuss what the inspiration of this thread was...
Suffice it to say, the "tying up" method is most certainly for VERY specific, particularly neurotic behaviors.

Be careful Fannie, someone might tie you up and train you to take it in the butt.

Dick if you were here in the room with me I would make you regret ever being born in ways that you could never see coming.

They get untied to bathe and whatnot.
Supervised of course.
Can't have them engaging in any neurotic behavior while I'm not looking.
They'd get to have nice walks outside daily (weather permitting), great home cooked meals...
Fuck, man!

I have 100% absolute, pure and total faith in my ability to cure people who have physically manifest neurotic behaviors.

It's very sad to think about all the neurotic people out there who will never get help...
Whether it's because nobody understands HOW to help them...
Or because they don't even know they have a problem/won't address it...
And worst of all, when no one around them points it out, says anything, tries to get to the bottom of the problem.
So sad.

I'd need someone who is deeply neurotic (with manifest physical behaviors) to not only recognize they have a problem and desire help for it, but be WILLING to... let me tie them up for months!?

See, I've realized what some of these physical behaviors are linked to in these people...
TALKING. But not just talking. CONVERSING.
Discussing topics.
And I'm sure just sitting around thinking would also cause the same behaviors to manifest as well.
The key would be to tie 'em up, then engage them in conversation for hours, and they'd have no way to carry out these physical behaviors (with their hands) during that time.
Eventually I believe discussing at length without engaging in subconscious neurotic behavior with the hands would become their NEW habit.
They'd have to be left to think for hours every day as well... and this usually happens before one falls asleep, so unfortunately they'd have to be tied up to sleep too.
So they'd spend months engaging in conversation, speaking at length about topics, and thinking to themselves...
All without being able to move their hands and therefore exhibit manifest neurotic behaviors.
I believe this would result in a cure.

What are some examples of manifest neurotic behavior?
Well...
On the quite mild end, there is twisting the hair around the fingers. This is usually done when one is thinking rather than speaking.
Then, there are the worst manifestations...
And these are the ones I have personally witnessed out of people that I absolutely find the saddest.
The picking of the skin. Yes, that's right... obsessive skin picking.
I've been shocked and appalled that no one seems to not only be able to help these people, but often will not even acknowledge a problem exists.
People shouldn't be left in an obvious mental hell (which is causing physical damage)...
They should be helped. But unfortunately so few people have either the desire to help, or the ability to understand the mechanism of rehabilitation.

Clinical treatment is so cold and impersonal...
Strapping people down and electroshocking them? Fucking leagues beyond worthless.
And you can't cure these extreme neurotic behaviors with an hour session every few weeks or something.
No, these things require at MINIMUM 60 days of treatment, and I really think 180 days is more like it. That's enough time to go through most peoples' behavioral and mental cycles AT LEAST once, and more likely twice.
It's not enough to do it for a month... people have overarching cycles and patterns of emotionality that don't play out fully on that short of a time scale.
The idea is to confront EACH emotional state and cycle/pattern of thinking, feeling and behaving, with the NEW physical response, which is NOT the neurotic movement of the hands and the accompanying obsessive, damaging activity.

And there's little incentive for anyone to professionally help people this way since it's so time/attention intensive...
You'd either have to be paid well for your services over the course of treatment, or you'd have to have a pretty deep personal interest in the patient, such as being a family member or spouse or something.
Of course, it needs to be proven to actually work first (which I'm certain it would)...
Therefore trials would be necessary, and it's likely these would just have to be a labor of love at first. In other words, you'd have to be willing to do it solely because you have some type of passionate drive and focus for helping people with these particular ailments.

Do you think maybe that the tying them up part might
scar them or create an issue where there isn't one?
