Back To The Future Trilogy - Review & Commentary

WARNING: SPOILERS. HAPPENING. BELOW. DON'T READ IT IF YOU DON'T ALREADY KNOW.

This will be an analysis of the Back To The Future trilogy.

I've seen the first Back To The Future like 100 times and I'm not reviewing it right now. Maybe someday I will but not at the moment. I'm interested in watching the other two movies, which I can't say I've ever actually seen in their entirety.

I feel like the last time I tried to watch BTTF3, I was like 5 years old and there was no way I was gonna be able to sit through that shit, LMAO! Historically, I don't even like westerns, so I'm not sure how I will feel about it as an adult. I must say, these days I do love cowboys and the old west culture, so maybe it'll be different for me now.

I know for sure I've never seen BTTF2. Just little bits and pieces, clips here and there, particularly the scene about Trump that everybody was freaking out about a few years ago saying the movie "predicted" the future. Wouldn't put it past 'em!

"Back To The Future: Part 2"

https://www.amazon.com/Back-Future-Part-...B00498YYCE

I'm watching these on Amazon through the STARZ 7 day free trial. They put some stupid ad on the movie that takes up 0:13 of the total time of the film. The Universal company logo comes on at 0:13 in this particular upload, so the timestamps may be off by about that much if viewed on other platforms. Best I can do!

0:43 Saturday, October 26, 1985. Hmmm. I wonder what day 10/26 falls on this year? Well would you look at that... a Saturday.

0:57 hmmm. I don't like this chick as much as I liked the other chick who played her in the first movie. Which is weird because I DO like Elisabeth Shue.

0:02:00 Michael J. Fox is a pretty good lookin' dude, I gotta say. Hmmm, this is sounding kinda familiar so far. Is this how the first movie ends, or am I delusional AF and I HAVE seen this movie before?? Cuz let's be real, how does somebody get through life as an early 90s kid and NOT see these movies??

But yeah I'm surprised I wasn't HARDCORE in love with Michael J. Fox as a kid because he is sooooooo my kinda shit.

3:35 this is a pretty cool opening, I like the cloud action. Such scenes are timeless, as I believe I've noted before about cloudscapes in other reviews. This doesn't look familiar.

0:04:28 whoa, uh, yeah, this is DEFINITELY not familiar. What the fuck?!

4:50 so they've arrived Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Interesting. It really was a Wednesday. They thought the world would look like this in 2015? Hmmm.

5:35 thank God he put her out. LMAO. She's annoying as shit! Movies in the late 80s/early 90s still treated women the way they were supposed to be treated!!!

7:20 LMFAO he looks exactly the same.

8:13 LOL, oh man. I don't think I'm prepared to pay close enough attention to this.

8:47 LOL well at least the hat was totally on point for the 2010s.

9:17 this is what makes these movies so fun, all the directive given and whatnot. It's like a secret mission.

11:10 LOL it's kind of amazing how far off they were. Can't fault 'em though. Would have been a better world if it had turned out that way.

11:45 "Jaws 19" ROFLMFAOOOOOO.

13:30 wow, creepy. I have definitely never seen this.

17:18 he's got blue eyes and his son has brown eyes, pretty sure.

18:45 LMFAO, OMG.

19:27 "There's something very familiar about all this" ROFLROFLMAO.

20:35 some of the style in this movie is fairly rad.

21:21 they did a great job making that guy look super old.

23:50 this is one of my fave parts of the movie, the way the history changes.

26:16 LOL the professor (Doc) is a great character.

One thing I really like about Michael J. Fox is that he's a short, delicious lil morsel. He's my height, 5'4"!!!

28:10 the scenery channel. LOL. Hell yeah!

28:55 what the fuck is with her daughter???

29:18 what the fuck, wow.

29:30 "rear display" some aspects of this are pretty right on. Others are totally off.

31:22 LOL, well isn't it convenient that she's just recounting the entire story for us.

31:36 "nice pants" ROFL.

32:21 well there he is older, he doesn't look bad.

32:38 LOL is that an automatic dog walker??? Fuckin' wow.

32:50 I think it's kinda fucked up how Biff is just following him around like this, WTF. Then he takes off in the DeLorean?? Really? By far my least favorite part of this story.

33:25 this seems pretty likely re: the miniature foods.

34:18 and with the phone glasses and whatnot... pretty interesting.

34:50 and the way it's scrolling ALL of his information by as he's talking to him on the screen...

Wow, this is... kinda some deep shit, to be honest.

36:05 and the "YOU'RE FIRED" thing in relation to the aforementioned Donald Trump "predictions" that this movie was so popular for a few years back...

The oddities are kind of piling up here.

36:10 holy shit... talk about driving a point home. Driving it home hard. Like, inexplicably hard especially for the time, a good 15 years before Trump's "Apprentice" ever came out.

37:10 "I'M OLD!!!!!!!!!" ROFLROFL. Aaaagh. Come on though... I don't really think the reaction would be that severe. And it's very funny of course. But I think the reaction would be... something else. I doubt anything verbally would be said.

37:25 fuckin' Biff, they need to just kill that fuckin' guy.

39:00 I duuuunnnnooooo, something seems kinda off! LMAO!

40:00 LOL what the hell!? Changing the future changed the past?! What!?

41:00 oh SHIT, LMAO! Oh shit! OH SHIT!

41:35 oh fuck, this don't look good at all!? How did changing the future change the past though???

I don't get it. He better go back and get his damn girlfriend!!!

43:33 LMAO OMG WTF!!!

44:10 what in the hell is going on here?? I don't get it, OMG!!!

44:55 ooooooohhhhhhhh, it's because fucking BIFF in the future DISCOVERED THE TIME MACHINE and then probably found some shit he used to guess the future with or whatever. Even though he was ALREADY IN THE FUTURE and this is the FUCKING PAST. I don't get it. Seriously. I seriously don't get it.

But of course I will have to draw the parallels between this story and Trump family time traveler story: http://www.sectual.com/thread-2971.html

So are they trying to say that Biff stole the time travel machine and went back in time and did all this shit with the small amount of time he had it?? I don't get it.

46:50 ROFLMFAOOOOOO.

47:35 I mean... they're right, all the way down to the massive fake tits they all have in the Trump family, LMAO! Whoa dude... what in the actual fuck is going on here. I'm legit a bit disturbed by this.

None of that was even true in 1989 though. I mean not really.

Ivana Trump in '89 wasn't all super crazy fake looking like they all are now... https://www.cheatsheet.com/wp-content/up...959141.jpg

Not at all. So they weren't basing it off whatever the hell was taking place at the time.

Very strange.

49:46 Michael J. Fox is sexy.

51:10 I can't believe I've legit never seen this movie.

53:05 I meeean... anybody else think it's weird that they just left Marty's girlfriend on that random front porch and like, fucking nothing has been said about her since?? LOL. That's... I dunno, low key a plothole if you want my honest opinion. Yeah, like out of sight, out of mind and all but... that's a lil much. Am I missing something?

53:40 AHAAAA. Makes sense. Wow. So that's why Biff was all tired and out of breath in all his scenes with the time machine.

54:45 it's a great trilogy. Even the western one would probably be pretty good, although I can say that (without having really seen it) it's probably the least good one in the trilogy. I know 5 year old me didn't think it was much to write home about. Definitely didn't watch it all though. Barely remember it though so meh. Maybe it'll be better than I think.

57:00 this character is nothing like Donald Trump actually is though.

58:20 Biff would not be showing him this or sharing it with him. Even if he did plan to kill him.

59:08 there's not a single bullet in that gun... meaning?

1:03:33 LOL, very confusing.

1:03:55 how does he have all that money from different time periods unless he's time traveled before??

1:17:40 LOL I knew this was gonna be some frustrating shit.

1:20:30 LOL oh no!

1:21:10 oh shit.

1:23:18 they better burn that fucking magazine.

The suspense is too much!

1:24:55 agh, for FUCK'S sake. LMAO. Agh. My God.

1:29:50 agh man, this movie is a trip.

1:32:05 THAT SUSPENSE THOUUUUUUGHHHHHHHH.

1:34:26 LMFAOOOOOOOO he's always running into fucking manure trucks BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1:37:10 what was that symbol the car made when it disappeared?? https://i.imgur.com/IsaUg05.png Looks like two upside down sixes. Or quotations. It's some type of symbol but I don't know what it means or what it's called.

1:37:20 did Marty just legit get left in the past?

1:38:20 OMG... the heck is gonna happen now??

1:39:00 Western Union, LOL uh oh! I think I see where this is going! Aaaahhh!!! Oh wow, this is interesting!!!

1:39:40 wow dude.

1:40:55 wow this is some crazy shit.

That was a great movie, of course not the same as the first one, but still really great.

"Back To The Future: Part 3"

https://www.amazon.com/Back-Future-Part-...B00498SDN0

Again these timestamps will be off by about 0:13 due to the stupid STARZ ad at the beginning of the Amazon upload of this movie. The Universal company logo starts at 0:13.

I didn't know these BTTF films were by Steven Spielberg.

2:10 I get it now, they start with the ending of the last one.

4:45 damn, Michael J. Fox got some nice lookin' feet!!!

8:50 this part seems low key familiar.

6:30 LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

THIS IS FUNNY.

7:10 "Future Boy" ROFLMFAOOOOOOOO. I knew this dude in New Zealand that I used to call that.

8:30 OMG "The Boot Hill Cemetery"... LOL this is honestly so fucking weird. Everything always comes to you RIGHT at the time when you need it most or it will make sense to you the most. If you try it before that... just doesn't work.

9:00 he's right. It's too risky.

11:50 LOL how would he have gotten the fricken DeLorean down there?

13:50 OMG WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

14:40 TBH, this movie is already really good.

15:50 Michael J. Fox, such a cutie. He's even cuter in this movie than the other ones.

16:50 LOL they're right in the middle of Monument Valley. Fucking amazing. I was just there the other day. It was uh... bright. Definitely the least visually enjoyable time I've ever driven through there... Sol right in my eyes, brightest shit I've ever seen. It all just looked like shadows. In retrospect I'm glad to have added that perspective of Monument Valley to my memory bank, but at the time it was just... hard.

21:06 God he's such a hottie. He really fucking is.

22:10 BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA you gotta be fucking kidding me.

Think I'm like. In love with Michael J. Fox at this point.

22:25 ROFLMAO he's always waking up like this. It's so weird.

23:10 what's really weird about this is the fact that... that's not even supposed to be his mom. So there's no explanation for her looking the same because she's not related like that, see what I'm saying?? That's so fucking weird. OMG. Kinda deep TBH.

23:34 LOL I talk like that sometimes. It's my Irish/Scottish/tard accent I use to talk to cute animals with... http://www.sectual.com/thread-1969.html

25:40 LMAO what's her problem!?

27:40 we never knew Hill Valley was in the desert... did we?

28:50 LOL! Wow what a scene. And that table full of those classic old western actor dudes.

30:00 LOL the smoke. WTF!!!

30:20 always the same ol' fuckers. This really is an interesting allegory on existence and 'karma'/past lives.

31:30 this version of "Biff" is way scarier than the usual version.

32:15 I definitely remember this movie very vaguely though, most certainly not enough to know the plot but... seems I did watch it at one time. Or at least some of it.

33:25 God I love those warm tones. Look how gorgeous the dirt is. It's all so warm and beautiful.

34:15 Doc is a badass.

37:10 I agree with him about that.

38:00 A SINGLE ICE CUBE LMFAOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

40:40 Christopher Lloyd has some really charming teeth.

41:06 "Tarnation, son!" ROFL amen. LOL.

41:40 God that's so brilliant... I'm so horny right now.

42:17 agh, fucking amazing hell yes.

48:15 I actually think this movie is pretty exciting.

51:50 honestly this movie almost makes me wanna cry a lil bit because I love the old western style and culture now, and I used to just... not care for it at all. It used to mean absolutely nothing to me. At all. But now it's so much different.

52:50 honestly this music is pretty good. The previews made this shit look... hokey. I am not feeling a vibe of hokey.

54:00 LOL a lot of these people were in Blazing Saddles.

55:18 I think James Tolkan is pretty damn hot.

58:35 I dunno man, $80 a lot for a ho even today!!! Bwahahahahaha... http://www.sectual.com/thread-5439.html

1:00:00 BAHAHAHA.

1:02:05 LMFAO I love this guy.

1:08:40 wow!

1:13:45 hot damn! He told her the truth! LOL!

1:14:40 TBH I'd rather time travel than have to deal with the women. LOL. Just too annoying.

1:15:50 "It's a woman right?" LOL, I like that guy.

1:17:20 LOL oh man he's telling off all the secrets.

1:18:06 "He just likes to hold it" ROFLMFAOOOOO that's fucking amazing.

1:19:35 "wakeup juice" ROFLLLLMFAO.

1:20:10 that was a good laugh.

1:20:55 he's gorgeous. I love dudes who aren't too tall. I'd even go so far as to say I love short dudes.

1:22:50 LOL fuck all these guys.

1:23:57 "He's an asshole!" LMFAOOOOOO.

1:28:50 YOU GOTTA BE FUCKIN' KIDDIN' ME, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1:32:40 "It's a science experiment!" LOL.

1:34:40 this bitch is gonna fuck everything up at the last minute isn't she?

1:36:40 gah... so obnoxious LMAO.

1:38:00 oh my God bitch you had better not. You are NOT worth all this.

1:39:00 fuck's sake.

1:41:26 LMFAO gah this fuckin' stupid bitch.

Ah wow... always some hardcore suspense with these movies. Really excellent I must say.

1:42:40 Eastwood Ravine, LOL.

1:43:20 well I guess that takes care of the time machine!!!

1:49:00 YOU GOTTA BE FUCKIN' KIDDIN' ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great movies, y'all, great movies. All of 'em.

Universal brought Christopher Lloyd (who still looks great and has that charm) in on 10-21-15 to record a clip for the 26 year anniversary of the significance of the date in the BTTF trilogy.

He delivers the same line that he did at the end of the final movie.

It's a nice line but...

When I heard it in the movie, I felt as though there may have been a time when I believed that you "write your future" and that "your life is what you make it"...

But I just don't believe that anymore.

I don't believe life is what you make it, I don't believe that "anything is possible" and I don't believe you can do "anything you set your mind to"...

And I regret telling these things to anyone I may have ever told them to.

The only comfort is that I didn't know it was a lie.

Judging by Lloyd's body language as he delivers the line at 0:33...

I don't think he believes it either.

Discussion from the retrowave thread: http://www.sectual.com/thread-4074-post-...#pid101837

Fuckin' despise the vocals, pure trash. Hell is a place where they play retrowave with horrible vocals for all eternity.

But somebody in the comments section made the statement that the original Jennifer from the first "Back To The Future" was way hotter than the other chick (Elisabeth Shue) who played her in the second movie... I kind of discussed it in my review of the BTTF trilogy:

http://www.sectual.com/thread-15435.html

I totally agree, Claudia Wells was definitely way hotter.

Why in the hell wasn't she in the second movie??? According to IMDb she didn't do ANYTHING between 1986 and 2008. That is a LONG time.

Claudia Wells was 23 in 1989. Shue was 26. So it wasn't because they wanted to cast somebody younger. Was Wells super pregnant or something?

Oh...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claudia_Wells

The reason why is on her Wiki.

Well, have to respect her for that I suppose.

Hmmm.

At least she's managed a pretty fly business for all these years... good for her!

Even with Parkinson's he's still got swagger. I can't imagine having to do improv acting with that condition. I would be fucking overwhelmed. It's kind of amazing that he can roll with it like this. I'm sure it sucks absolutely, like borderline hellish, but that's what makes it impressive.

Southern California was pretty much desert before they built the dams and aqueducts and shit to bring in water from other states.
