All right, ladies and germs, repeat after me.

It's really more of a consequence of how the software works. A user Id is required to initialize all of the JavaScript modules.

My thought was that SJWs can't get you kicked off your host or otherwise fuck with you if they can't see what's on your site in the first place. It's definitely designed for people who don't particularly want outsiders to know what they're up to.

The upside is that everything loads almost instantly. After the front page loads, small amounts data are the only thing that gets transferred between the the server and browser. All of the HTML templates are downloaded with the front page and rendered in JavaScript. The Github page explains it all in more detail.

We're going to discuss guest browsing, guest posting, and guest participation in general pretty soon.
Opening up the platform may give anonymous users access to a lot of features not found on ordinary off-the-shelf forum platforms. There are some creepy-stalkerish ramifications to some of this shit. We need to think about exactly what guests should and shouldn't be allowed to do. As I've said several times, I do not want to run or even visit a "red board" ever again.

Not even to mention how satisfying it is to have your own site.

People are all caught up in having a built in audience, which is implied with social media...

If you're not doing things for the right reasons (like having a site so that you can express yourself FULLY and TRULY) then you are just wasting your time anyways.

It's better to have your own site where you speak freely, with no one there, than to try and water yourself down and pander to an audience that isn't actually guaranteed to you on social media anyway.

Social media is the lazy way to monetize your content.

It's also easy come, easy go. Three strikes, and you're out. Everything gone. No more content, no more audience, no more income.

The fact that there's such a thing as "Facebook jail" should be enough to ward off any self-respecting person.

Invest in building your Web presence the right way, and nobody will be able to take it from you.

Amen, that's the bottom line.

Yup, and keep it backed up regularly...

Even if the site goes poof for whatever reason, you have your life's work saved.

Period.

You don't have that option with most social media.

Some of them allow you to download your "data" or whatever but pft...

Fuck 'em on principle alone. I don't care how they wanna try to make it seem more attractive.

At the end of the day, if you're not posting 90% of what you create online, on your OWN WEBSITE...

You are giving your energy away for free, for nothing, and it's all out of your control.

You owe it to yourself to value your time more than that.

That's why I moderate this site so hard...

The reader's time is VALUABLE.

Minimal BS allowed.

Of course some BS is inherent in the shit that I post (for example), but you EXPECT THAT.

You're agreeing to a sprinkling of trolling and BS when you visit...

But things get thrown all off balance when a chaotic element of bullshit is allowed into a site.

So my suggestion to people would be...

On YOUR SITE, YOUR CREATIONS are at the forefront of the purpose.

If you wanna allow other people to contribute content to your site, then fine.

But be extremely careful what you allow.

Like take Fung for example...

Half of what he posts never makes it through.

And I tell him NOT to waste his (valuable) time posting shit he KNOWS will NOT be approved.

But he does it anyway...

He's been informed that he's wasting his time, that I don't approve of him wasting his time...

Yet he does it anyway.

He makes that choice.

Most sites don't come with the disclaimer of "If you're gonna be a douchewit, don't waste your time posting here."

Social media makes money off everything you submit, even if you're wasting your time because your account is ultimately gonna be banned...

No matter what, THEY are making money off of YOU, and you will never see a penny of it.

That's why Twitter is trying to make itself more attractive by letting users with a following monetize their content.

Because the cat's outta the bag...

None of these big corporate sites give TWO FUCKS about you, your time, or any aspect of your existence whatsoever.

YOU HAVE TO CARE.

You have to be the one who values your time and treats yourself with that respect.

I hope she died.

Your defective reasoning ability is showing again. Either that, or you didn't read the thread. Probably both.

If you don't have anything positive to contribute to this discussion, kindly butt out.

I also found something else. YouTube has a site called youtube-nocookie.com that apparently attempts to track you via embedded videos. The Privacy Badger plugin has blocked it for me on this site and others. I recommend installing it.
