P.H. Nargeolet, a veteran Nautile submersible pilot and Titanic diver, originally picked up a blip on echo sounding equipment in 1996, but its origins remained unknown. ... [In 2022] he found a rocky reef, made up of various volcanic formations, thriving with lobsters, deep-sea fish, sponges and several species of coral that could be thousands of years old. ... Since the recent discovery near the Titanic, it is now believed such features might be more common than previously thought. ... OceanGate will continue its longitudinal research work of the Titanic and surrounding areas in 2023.

5:14 the man is right.

They never should have given anyone the rights to go down there and bring up "artefacts" like jewelry, shoes, dishes, parts of the ship...

It's akin to grave robbery and that's the bottom line.

If they got caught up in the debris field and were alive in the sub for days... they died a far worse death than anyone on the Titanic did, that's just the truth of it.

I can't think of a more clear and unfortunate sign from the universe saying "Don't ever come back to this place."

It can't get much more blatant.

How long do you wanna bet luciferian hollywood will wait before they make a movie about "the fate of the five" utilizing these nifty new 3D scans?

Very convenient.

I've been on several ships, ferries, and fishing boats in the North Atlantic... it's an extremely inhospitable place on a good day. To be as far out in it as these rescue vessels are... not enviable. It's a very cold, windy, wet and totally isolating environment... just feels unsettling most of the time.

The Leif Ericson is like the Mercury Retrograde of North Atlantic ferries...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_Leif_Ericson

It ran aground in 1995 when it was still called the Stena Challenger, and it collided with a "concrete structure" while in Port Aux Basques in 2006, just a couple of years after I was on it the last time.

Most of those ships are creepy in general, and some of them are haunted.

Leif Ericson wasn't particularly haunted, but definitely a klutz. Although according to the Wiki, it's gone without incident for damn near 20 years at this point, so props I guess.

I love it when Steve takes bathroom breaks during his streams. It turns me on to think about him man handling his doom boner.

I was thinking today maybe they rescue these people and also find a portal where the alien space/ocean ships are . This alien shit needs to reach a conclusion ffs

An ROV located the rear cover and the landing frame from the sub, so those are components that wouldn't have been subject to shattering upon implosion like the passenger capsule would have been.

It was found 1640 ft. (quarter mile) away from the Titanic, so they never got to the wreckage site, that's just where the remaining pieces of the sub drifted down after it shattered. That distance aligns perfectly with the lost comms at 1:45:00 into descent, as it takes ~2 hours to get there.

They might have known some weird shit was going wrong with the sub, but they died instantly... the most preferable way possible in this whole situation.

So I was right to have a super positive outlook and assume implosion from the jump. This is actually good news. That means we should all continue just assuming the best about everything!

Pretty sure all those chicks are just photographers or maids or something, but still. Tons of social justice BS wrapped up in this OceanGate company... really just did not go well at all. Nobody will learn from this though.

5:25 Stockton's step son...

I just don't even know what to say. Just looking at him and listening to him, you can tell. You can just tell. The guy wouldn't be anywhere if it wasn't for family connections. These soft rich boys born into all this wealth just end up total degenerates, and TBH, they might be the cause of why society is in this condition today. I don't think it's the billionaires we should be mad at for the state of the world... I think it's their soft, spoiled, pansy sons who never had to struggle to survive and only developed warped sexual proclivities with all that free time.

However I must say I have always thought the whole connection between this story and Tom "Disclosure" DeLonge's Blink-182 band was a bit "coincidental"...

hmmm

P. H. was far more likeable than Stockton... I'm relieved to hear he didn't suffer. Seeing him in interviews made me sad to think he might be trapped in a bad situation. He seemed like a decent feller.

Must be hella weird to hear all this for the people who had gone down in that sub.

Good ol' carbon fiber weave that shatters "like porcelain" eh?

Stockton's hopes of innovation didn't go over too well, and this situation will impede any attempts at similar innovative strategy for at least a decade.

Still can't wrap my mind around what exactly makes gawking at a rusty hunk of metal with a tragic history so fucking "wonderful", but okay.

7:52 Cameron is right...

They were attempting to shed weight and come back up to the surface in order to get to a depth with lesser PSI in time.

He's the first person I've heard who was willing to say this, so props to him.

They may have known their situation was potentially dire and they may have panicked...

But those feelings they may have momentarily encountered followed by death within milliseconds is still a far better scenario than being trapped for days or suffocating.

From a news cycle obfuscation standpoint, this sub saga dragged on for days is still not enough to deflect from the crazy shit coming out about provable nefarious Biden family activity. They'll have to come up with another diversion if they wanna drown that drama out effectively.
