I think BJ is onto something and it's pretty chilling.
She's being criticized for making the body cam footage public, but it was already public upon request.
Some people are saying that BJ is going to cause so much trouble that the rules about allowing the public to access this type of info from the police will be changed.
I disagree... this info is available to the public so that we can VERIFY that the police/public servants are DOING THEIR JOBS and actually SERVING THE PEOPLE, and HELPING victims.
18:20 this video is damning as fuck. When the clips of their mom come up, her acting is even more obvious. That she would just take away Dalia's medication because she doesn't like the way she acts on it, and she'd seemingly do this without consulting a doctor for followup and to try different medication?? It's horrifying. Because if Dalia really is "just" mentally ill, why is she not reassessed by doctors and put on other medications that might work for her? It is so common to need a lot of evaluations, to test different medications, to find something that helps the patient. To withhold needed and prescribed medication from someone in that condition is just unconscionable.
The fact that people need to ‘try many different medications’ is kind of a damning indictment on the whole pharma/psychiatry industry imo

BJ did an excellent job deconstructing Dalia's statements and conveying them in plain, realistic terms. She's doing important work. Dalia is a 31 year old woman who is being held in a room (often with her twin sister who is also living under these same conditions) with no way to contact the outside world, no phone/computer, no means of entertainment or intellectual engagement opportunities. There's something very wrong with that.

But regardless of whether the system works or not, there is a process and a routine that is followed concerning the treatment of those in psychosis, and it seems like Dalia is getting none of this professional help. Furthermore it seems that her mother is withholding medication she was prescribed, so even if it WOULD help her, she is not receiving the medication.

It's a very failed system. Dalia says during the police visit that she was at the hospital the day before, but the wait was 15 hours and apparently her situation wasn't dire enough to warrant waiting... who made that judgement call is unknown.
What does BJ gain by wearing those pink mouse ear things... is this the style for lawyers now? I could be missing something.

She gave up her license to practice because she felt they were trying to control her freedom of speech... she just considers herself a journalist now, but she does have the Harvard/law background.
I know British lawyers wear ridiculous wigs. But this makes me think of Russell Brand yelling with his Jesus hair and ripped shirts. Having the rational people look like the mental patients seems counterproductive. Just my perspective... it could be I'm just old and the total opposite is true. Maybe it's better and pink ears and ripped shirts actually get you taken more seriously now.

Shows how authorities really don't care about much except filling out forms, getting through the day and covering their own asses (from whatever angle) They're probably being inundated with information now, and it'll just give them an excuse to dismiss most of it.
That Mom and Lima are definitely suspect... Dahlia really does seem like a victim. Sad.

She made that call for the purpose of discounting everything Dalia said and making sure she would not get seen by a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Because she was biased, because she'd "gone down the rabbit hole" and sided with the mom after past visits.

Some people think it was the male cop who made the tip off about the case to BJ because he thought the shit was weird. I dunno though, I think it may have been somebody in the Lima inner camp, because the mom had clearly been coached to bring BJ's name into it. It was for show.

Time will tell whether BJ's right and there's more to this whole story... we'll see. She's sure going out on a limb if she's just taking shots in the dark for internet popularity. Typically whenever a bunch of questionable people gang up and call you crazy... well, usually they're the ones who are actually up to no good.
